I will compare them both to gold diggers. Everything they sell and do is overpriced. I brought my bike there for repairs, though I can it done cheaper elsewhere I didn’t mind the price too much as I want to support local businesses. However, these guys pricing is ridiculously higher than anywhere else you may go. And when the work they did on your bike isn’t done up to a good standard and it breaks few weeks later, They treat you like you are a kid who would break things and look for someone to blame. They never own up to their mistakes. I am very disappointed in them I would not recommend anyone to them. They are not cheap and they are never explicit on what work they have done on your bike. When you ask, they say “I have done everything or I will do everything” even when you insist.
I've known brothers Abbas & Karim for years ever since they took over 'South Bank Cycles' - for whose services I've been an appreciative customer since the '70s. These chaps are everything other praising reviewers have said. For helpfulness, value-for-money and friendliness I think they are unbeatable. Abbas - incidentally a former Iranian Olympic cyclist - has cycled several times to my house to fix a bike which I haven't been able to bring to them - and is reluctant to accept any more than, in my book, the often inadequate amount they charge normally... I've seen them treat with patient sympathy small boys coming in with no money to have a puncture fixed. There's certainly not much of a living to be had from running a small cycle shop in a rather deprived area - Frankly, they need all the local cycling community support we can contribute to try to help keep them in business as the big asset they undoubtedly are.. and as they so rightly deserve.
Very accommodating and good advice. For an independent their prices are reasonable. Also very honest, I'd left my oyster card holder with cards etc at the shop and they kept it safe for me until I could collect. Great little shop!
Not coming here ever again as they completely scammed me! I went to this shop a year ago and already didn't think I would go back after that first visit but I got a puncture on my way home and, unfortunately, it is the closest shop. The prices were higher than other places £15 and as well as that, the man kept telling me to change my tyre. My tyre isn't great but I didn't have a spare £50 and it's not that bad either... I had also been told by three different people that he had told them the same thing when they had gone in previously and their tyres weren't bad. After picking up my bike and after the man quickly pumped it some more even though it was clearly already pumped my tyre slowly went flat after one short cycle ride... The man said that because I hadn't gotten a new tyre I would have to pay to get another inner tube... In the end I went to Balfe's Bikes in Kennington and it turned out the 'new' tube I have been given in Southbank Cycles was actually an old one with a patch on it!!! I would NOT recommend Southbank Cycles to anyone! And if you do stop there, make sure you have cash as their card machine never works!
Disgusting service. Complete rip off. After getting a puncture on my journey, I had to pop in as it was the closest bike shop to where I was located. As soon as I came in, I should have noticed the 2 complaining customers and left the shop. However, since it was urgent, I had to get my inner tube replaced. Usually the first check to do when replacing the inner tube is to remove any bits of glass/debris that caused the puncture from the tyre. He failed to do this. I rode off after paying and within an hour the inner tube punctured again. I called up to complain and he said that I would be able to return to the shop and get a free inner tube replaced. Once I returned, he went totally against what he had agreed on the phone and said it was all my fault. I even pointed to where the glass was in the tyre, so it couldn't have been that hard to remove. I did not receive a inner tube replacement and I left the shop disgusted. NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN.
Great Shop. Tired of other shops' overprices and unhelpful staff. At Southbank Cycles you get value for money but also honest advice and friendly and polite service. Also, the shop is part of cyclescheme. I recommend without hesitation
Absolute joke. Had really bad customer service in there before, and recently stopped by as my tyre needed pumping up on my commute. I pulled up to the shop and noticed they didn't have a pump chained up outside like most bike shops do these days. Went in to the shop wherein started a dialogue between me and two...unenthused men behind the counter that went like this: Me: "Sorry I'm just looking to pump my tyre up?" Unenthused bike shop guy:"Yeah...outside, don't bring your bike in..." Me: "Ok" At this point I thought perhaps I somehow missed the pump, so I awkwardly lifted my bike back out to check again. Nope. No pump. I popped my head back in the door. Me: "Sorry, am I missing something here?" Unenthused bike shop guy: "It's right there!" Me: There's literally nothing there? Other unenthused bike shop guy 2: "It's just there mate!" There was definitely nothing there. I just rode to work with a flat. Cheers lads.
absolute ridiculous. Bad customer service and ridicolous price for a plastic pedal 15pounds when i asked for a receipt he said: i dont have receipt and gave me a piece of paper with a seal.... Fu#king S#it
Fantastic service & flawless quality of workmanship, at very reasonable rates. Been going there for many years & would recommend these guys to everyone. A1!
Legendary service, incredibly nice guys, affordable and fair price, won't be going to Evans again. Local business with great knowledge and expertise.
