Knowledgeable and friendly service. Monica is great! Their mechanic was unwell today so they weren’t sure they’d be able to build my bike. I told them I had a ride planned with my brother in the morning and Andrew, the manager, rolled up his sleeves and went the extra mile to put my bike together so that I could do the ride. That’s proper service! Thanks very much. Highly recommend
What a horrible experience. I've previously bought 2 bikes at the now closed Chalk Farm branch, where the service was helpful, friendly and efficient. Today I bought a third bike at Holloway Road, spending 800 pounds. The sales assistant was rude, arrogant and unhelpful. Further, he didn't test the bike after assembling it, so the cog clicks and a singing sound is coming from the wheel. Came out of there feeling belittled and awful instead of thrilled with my brand new bike.
Been here a couple of times and always found the staff helpful and friendly. I had an accident recently nearby and went straight to cyclesurgery to get my bike checked. I was pretty shaken up, and everyone on the shop floor was kind and sympathetic. They checked my bike for me free of charge, and offered me advice about helmet damage and insurance. I left the shop feeling a lot better than when I went in! Would def recommend.
I've been here a few times and found the staff happy to help. I'm moved to write this because of my experience earlier today. I'm a big fan of simple old bikes hipsters might call them 'vintage' and had a weld break on an old-school pannier rack. The chap who helped me didn't get his name but his accent is from Durham sifted through spare parts in the backroom and gave me them FOR FREE to try and see if I could fix it, as it's a lot of metal to be throwing in the bin for one small fault. If it works, hooray and I'll return as a loyal customer. If it doesn't work, boo and I'll be back for a new rack, and a loyal customer in future. That's good service, folks.
I had a flat tire on by bike so brought it down to the shop. They fixed it within a few hours, replacing the inner tube and tire for £34. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they gave me some good advice on how to take better care of my bike. Couldn't have asked for more and I strongly recommend this place.
I was very happy with having my bike serviced but it all fell apart when I lost the cable for a light I bought, probably in the shop. Rath than take my number and promise to look out for it when I rang, I was fobbed off and told to buy another. And rather than respond to my complaint about this, the shop remained silent. Clearly aftercare is not part of the service. Very poor. But much better when the shop eventually got in touch. Just wish they had been more helpful straight away.
No bike pump to use outside and will refuse customers access to one in store. This is the worst, most unfriendly bike shop and customer service I’ve consistently experienced on multiple occasions. Most bike shops will be willing to help cyclists, but every time I’ve been here, I can’t help but feel like they want to get rid of as many customers as possible. Highly recommend finding another bike store nearby.
I visited the store to pick up a new tyre. The service was very fast and very good. However a charge of £8 to install a new tyre on a wheel that I purchased from the store I think is too much. Considering that there is no installation fee in Evans Cycles and Halfords. I would definitely recommend their service but I would purchase my bike parts from another shop.
New bike owner went in for advice about helmets, gloves, clothing. Staff couldn't care less and just pointed me to the items, unwilling to provide any advice because they were too busy online booking their holidays. No wonder retail is in such trouble; you don't have to put up with rude staff online. Needless to say went elsewhere where prices were better too.
Shockingly bad service! I arrived at the shop with 20 minutes before close to have a puncture fixed, but was told this wouldn't be possible because they were closing. I suggested that it doesn't take very long to mend a puncture, but was told there was a lot to do before they could close there were three members of staff all standing behind the desk not visibly doing anything, as well as another member of staff fixing a bike outside. I asked if I could leave the bike and pick it up in the morning-I was told this wouldn't be possible either. I asked how many appointments were booked in the next day to try and get an idea of when I might be able to pick my bike up, to be told they are fully booked for a week! I then suggested that a week is a slightly ridiculous time to wait for a very small job, the reply to which was 'we might be able to squeeze it in at some point' with no indication of when this might be. Apologies for the paragraph, but this was pretty much the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The member of staff I spoke to was completely unapologetic and essentially wasn't interested in helping me at all. I imagine if I was there to spend more money he would have been much more accommodating.
