After a delightful day out on the nearby steam railway, our family of nine, including three small children, were looking for a relaxed and welcoming spot for dinner. Smith & Western in Tunbridge Wells absolutely hit the mark!nnFrom the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was family-friendly and inviting. Our waitress, Amelia, deserves a special mention. She was incredibly kind, friendly, and patient with our little ones, which made a huge difference to our dining experience. Nothing was too much trouble for her. When we requested a slight change to the children's meals swapping beans for vegetables, Amelia handled it with a smile and ensured our request was met without any fuss.nnThe food itself was delicious and arrived at our table remarkably quickly – a definite bonus when you have hungry children in tow! Every dish was well-prepared and thoroughly enjoyed by all.nnDespite Smith & Western being a bit of a journey from our home, the excellent service, delicious food, and genuinely welcoming atmosphere, especially thanks to the wonderful Amelia, mean that we would absolutely make the trip again. It's a fantastic choice for families looking for a stress-free and enjoyable meal out. Highly recommended!
Stayed and dined at this awesome place. We were welcomed by Russ, who was an absolutely lovely chap who gave us a warm welcome to the Restaurant/Hotel.nnHe kindly showed us to our room and asked if we needed anything, he was there to give assistance. I requested for a reservation for 7.30pm and he jotted it down on the back of his hand immediately upon saying so. Really great service.nnVery down to earth to talk to, took real interest in our recent engagement, that we shared the news of. Russ was attentive and always had a smile on his face, even in service!! during a busy Saturday evening! which was packed.nnWe enjoyed our meals. Portion size is amazing and the staff were really nice and reassuring.nnAs for the night stay, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Was very quiet too.nnBreakfast was yummy also!nnWe will be back again soon!nnI highly recommend bumping into Russ as he's a nice guy who'll make you enjoy your dining or stay over experience way more special.nnChristopher & Sarah-Jane, Brighton
We came in for a lovely meal tonight and had a really nice time. we had Leo as our server and we really couldn’t fault him and his service! We were never waiting too long for anything, he was so enthusiastic and lovely to talk to, and just a nice genuine smiley face! The food was incredible, we will definitely be back soon, Thankyou Leo for making our meal that extra bit better!!!
Smith & Western is a family owned chain of country & western / American cowboy style restaurants selling great BBQ food, burgers, nachos and more. The branch at Tunbridge Wells has some themed hotel rooms and is the only one to serve breakfast.nI opted for The Lumberjack which came with a stack of fluffy buttermilk pancakes,streaky Canadian bacon and lashings of maple syrup plus eggs any way you want I had poached tomato, potato hash patty and toast with unlimited filter coffee included.nThere's country music playing, staff in cowboy/ girl dress plus a great wild west theme going on throughout the restaurant.nFood came quickly,was hot and tasty. The staff were all friendly.nI've been to three different branches now and have found them to be consistently good.
The Tunbridge Wells Smith & Western is set in a lovely old building not far from the Pantiles with a good amount of parking.nIts fun decor is great for families and groups and I'm always happy with the food. Bring your appetite as the portions are generous in a good way.nMy husband and daughter got a fantastic sharing platter. The service was really friendly and attentive.
