Just called in here for the first time while driving past. The staff was welcoming from first entrance and very helpful. The food was beautiful and defeated us all as the portions were massive, home cooked food at its best. We will definitely be calling again now we have found this place. Thank you for the service from start to finish it was A*
Amazing home cooked food, extremely friendly staff xx We will be back, only next time we'll make sure we've not eaten for 2 days Very generous portions at a generous price
Don't come here if you're not hungry as the food is DeeeeLish and BIG portions! Lovely welcome, coffee that's better than Megabucks or Costa Lotta and a lovely atmosphere. We loved our visit xx
Lovely meal and pub. Sat outside while the sun was shining :-
This must be one of the only pubs in the area which actually offer homemade food. Others say they do but it's all frozen rubbish.. I took my elderly Mum for an early evening meal, she had beef & black pudding pie, the beef was so tender and the pastry amazing. Served with 3 different vegetables and homemade chips. I had fish & chips and asked for it lightly battered which many places for some reason can't seem to do. The fish was delicious as were the chips. I've tried many pubs for some decent food and this certainly delivers on that front. Very friendly and will definitely be going again soon. If one pub can do homemade food I'm sure others could.
Friendly welcome, very good service and all the food was clearly home made! I had the chicken and ham pie which was very good and packed with both chicken and ham my wife had the steak and ale pie which she really enjoyed too. Both meals were generous and very reasonably priced too
Great food, excellent service. I ordered the gammon which was really good quality and cooked well. My husband had chilli which was packed full of chunks of tender beef. Excellent value too at less than £25 including drinks. Great mid week go to!
Stopped in for a pint after a walk. Met with a friendly smile and good tunes. Nailed 1st pint. Ordered food, fish finger butty was great, chips were immense and salad top draw. Not from round that area but you should all drop by and enjoy it
We went for Sunday tea. The food was nice but the service was a little slow. We got our drinks order as soon as we sat down but had to ask to order after waiting over 10 minutes. Then the food took nearly 40 minutes.
Lasagne description boasted prime beef and a rich sauce, neither were in my meal. When they admitted all portions were like this I opted for fish and chips that arrived on my plate swimming in fat. What should've been lovely chunky chips were still frozen in the middle. Stay away!
