Arrived at Silverthorne centre using the walk-in blood testing service at 11.00 a.m. on Wednesday 14th March. Used electronic check-in and informed that there were no more appointments for blood tests on that day and the earliest appointment available was Monday 26th March. I am absolutely shocked by this poor service.

They open the doors at 8am and start blood tests at 8:30am. The waiting room has 30 seats and they are all taken by 8:30am so arrive early if you want a seat :) There is plenty of standing room if the seats are taken. Once they start doing the tests at 8:30 it goes really quickly. They did 7 people within the first 10 minutes and it continues like that throughout the morning. I arrived at 8am and was out by 9am. Take a ticket from the ticket machine when you first go in!

New Swiftqueue system is enormously disappointing on first look. Waiting room was packed, appointments running 50mins late

The online booking system for blood test is very good. No queueing in the rain, in and out in 5 minutes.

The blood letting clinic. Not too sure about another one posted further down which relates to something else which is likely to be the GP practice in the same building but on the front or side. This facility is the outreach phlebotomy service run by Barts etc health care provider for GP practices housed in a room attached to a gp practice on site. The waiting room is quite large, two rooms combined, with WC and the adjoining room where the blood is taken. They had three staff taking blood concurrently. No curtains or screens between patients. Possibly like a field hospital. That could be improved. There is no receptionist, due to cost I guess. You take a number and wait for it to come up. Mid morning, didn't have to wait too long. The best bit it has visitor's free NHS wifi (suspect that's from the attached practice), enter name and your off, so you can do your reading whilst waiting. I guess I waited about ten minutes. This is one of those spaces that the NHS had to find in the community when it started to move services into the community - they were always a bit tricky to find. Not a bad space and I managed to park the car in the clinic car park around the front. Not a bad experience. My only comment is on patient confidentiality and privacy. If you happy to share blood letting with other people it's fine.
