Shrewbury station is a connecting station for a large number of destination.nnPay attention to platform 4. Indeed, the platform is 'virtually' divided into two sections. 4A and 4B, meaning you can have two trains going in two different direction leaving the same physical platform roughly at the same time. Can be confusing for tourists like me. Anyway, you can ask one of the attendant, they will help you.nFor those who like, there is also a Starbuck Coffee.
Terrible station worst one I've ever used. Absolute chaos, over priced, jobs worth staff are totally unhelpful. Delays and chaos are to be expected. Flooding, signal faults, lack of train crew are all regular occurrences here. Absolute shambles
One of the worst stations considering it's a damn city. TtW only run services every 2 hours and then re platform them late to platform 3. The platform layout is rubbish like they threw a dice in the air and stuck some numbers down. Platform 3 is hidden in a secret location outside of the actual station so you have to get staff to let you through the barriers. Absolutely terrible station to change trains at. The toilets are decent though.
My 16 year old daughter made a mistake of buying a child’s ticket to get home from college! First time she traveled! she should have had her full year pass from college by now First time!!! ! She has only just turned 16 by 13 days!!! She wasn’t let through Shrewsbury train station !!! She made a mistake!! She showed a email that she had a year pass for a train ticket that we had brought £290 but not got the pass yet!!! Through college She then tried to pay for an adult she had forgot her card and there was no ways to pay cash!! She offered them to pay the woman £2.00 difference for a mistake to be told no!!! She was told she broke the rules!!! So the woman left a 16 year old stranded at the Shrewsbury train station for nearly 2 hours!!!! Good job!! Hope you got your £2 pounds worth and put my daughters safety at risk!!!!!
Absolutely ridiculous! The train was sent to the wrong platform and none of us were told that the 17.10 had arrived in platform 6 instead of 5, even during the 5-10 minutes it was sat there, it wasn’t even said over the telecom, we only saw as it left the station, causing the next train to be absolutely packed, filled with people sitting and standing, but the telecom was used after this mistake wasn’t said
