Oakengates town centre comprises 50-100 shops, including 2 chemist shops pharmacies, several barber shops, cafes restaurants and takeaways, phone repair shop, pet shop. 5 charity shops thrift stores, pawn shop. Games arcade, public library currently situated within The Wakes building, Theatre currently undergoing a lengthy refurbishment, an optician, a tobacco specialist selling all things smoking related, several shops catering for specialist ethnic foods and colourful ethnic fabrics, 4 shops selling food and other groceries, an opticians, a building society, an employment agency, and a Post Office placed within the local co-operative store.
Oakengates is a really small train station with no ticket office. It is currently under construction as we speak and is due to be finished at the end of December 2021.i don't know if it will be finished then but soon after definitely. The new trains that will start running in January will then be able to stop there
This is a tiny little station that has a self ticket machine and a newly painted bridge, but severely outdated and might fall soon. Its quite dirty a lot of the time but a nice place to wait for 5 or 10 mins for the train but if u wait 30 or 60 mins its quite boring but there's a nearby bus stop and high street. Hourly service
No staff here very unsafe. Threatened by teenage gangs whilst waiting for train. Best to use tellford central instead.
Small station with a ticket machine. Some work has been taking place to improve the station but seems to be taking forever to finish.
