Absolutely brilliant park for walks, has a great kids area and they love it. Lots of parking spaces which is good. They host funfairs and a yearly circus. Lots of places to see within. Great scenery. They have paddling and rowing boats also which you can hire. Loads of wildlife if you like tour pictures like me.
Nice place to visit - good for kids as not enormous. Has a boating lake and good cafe. House and outbuildings are very interesting and have a lot of character. Anne Lister the most famous owner but other interesting history too. More character profiles of staff and groundsmen would add to experience.
Visited October 2022. What a lovely park. Pleasant scenic walks with a great play area. The Cafe was excellent and good value. Will definitely visit again when in the area.
Beautiful Park. A little tricky to find your way in from main road but if you follow Shibden Hall, you will find it. Also for those less mobile, don't park in the first car Park but keep driving threw until you reach the cafe. Little train takes round the Park, which is great. Little pond with hire boats also available. You must try the Kelly's Icecream... Delitious Playground: There is a dedicated playground for young children with climbing frame and slides. Restrooms: In the Cafe are Dog-friendliness: Advised to keep dogs on led around pond but plenty of room elsewhere to let them off the lead Picnic area: Plenty of Benches, space available for picnic
Lovely place. Great value for money and helpful staff. Only negative was lack of catering and small car park-many visitors didn't have cash and didn't want or couldn't download car park app
Shibden Hall is a sight to be seen even though the day we visited fog clouded the skies. The path trailing up to the hall was long and winding yet peaceful and relaxing. The best kind of leisure walk to take with the family. As it was December the actual hall was closed to the public however the outdoor stone museum was open. Things such as shepherd huts and cattle prevented stone walls could be seen with many informative plaques. Nonetheless overall it was a joyous and enjoyable experience .
Interesting place to visit and the park was lovely; full of different wild plants and alive with birdsong. With the hall museum, the park, wildlife, boating lake and play area there's something for nearly everyone.
Unique place perfect for families walking, picnic, drinking coffee go for a walk with the dog enjoy the whole see the museum wonderful place definitely recommend it.
The grounds and parkland of Shibden Hall, home to Anne Lister. Rolling landscape, quite hilly. Parking. Café. Boating lake with lots of waterfowl. Kids playground. Woodland walks. You can walk around the Mere. Also has interesting dry stone walling exhibits, showing the variations in style - I never knew there were so many! My dad would have loved this, a volunteer at Loggerheads Country Park in North Wales, he had a passion and innate knack for repairing dry stone walls. Dogs on leads, because of the plethora of wildlife, but of course, there's always those rebellious owners who ignore the signage. Recommended. Good vistas of surrounding area.
Absolutely stunning park Beautiful building and we was lucky enough to see a team Stone lane walls and the different styles and they gave us a tour really enjoyed it Restrooms: So close and keeped nice and clean
