Wow what an amazing introduction to Lithuanian food! My new favourite restaurant in London and the first time I wished there was a category for 6 stars! I went without knowing what to expect, and was greeted with warm service, incredible food and an amazing musical performance from Alex Smirnov from Ukraine on the saxophone and flute. There were some menu items that weren't available, but there were still alot of options to pick from. The waiter helped us navigate the menu and made suggestions. He was attentive and came to check on us regularly throughout the meal, and helped us to take photos. We were sharing our dishes as a group and he helped to split 2 portions like the soup into 4. The restaurant had really interesting aesthetic and I loved the big tables and benches. We ordered the fried bread with cheese, cold beetroot soup, layered herring cake, pork shish, zeppelines with pork, zeppelins with curd. the Cold beetroot soup and the layered herring cake were my favourites, it tasted really fresh and overall presentation of the dishes were well thought out. Also - come hungry and choose a good balance of potatoes. For dessert we tried the warm apple pie, lazyboy and bread icecream. We had a local bottled Kvass which was tasty too. I wasn't a huge fan of the lazyboy and the warm apple pie for it's texture it was a bit soft and mushy for me, but highly recommend the Bread Ice Cream - Duonos Ledai. Now... for me the music from Alex made it extra special - so much that I thought even if the food was bad it would have been worth it to come. You can definitely see the passion with how he plays. They have events over the week and it's definitely worth checking out what they have and booking in advance. All in all it was about 28 pounds per person which was a great price for what you get, especially in London. I can't wait to come back soon!!
Amazing food, very authentic Lithuanian cuisine and good atmosphere, don't miss this place whether you're an English speaker or a Lithuanian, as a Lithuanian myself, I approve! Food: 5/5
Fantastic place and fantastic food. Staff were very friendly. Can't wait to come back again. I think we were even greeted by the Manager of the restaurant. Oh and did I say that the food was fantastic?
We visited during Xmas period, 100% festive feeling, food with generous portions and good flavour. The mushroom and beetroot soup was impressive!!
Big portion of food. Nice clean place lots of space even if you come with baby. As I was growing close to Lithuania board that was remaining me my childhood where we ate lots of cepelinai and potato bake. All fresh. And delicious. High recommended. Only service one waitress was little too kind. Came many times to our table asking "how was food and do you need something" it was too much from her side. She was quite "annoyed. Definitely I will back to this restaurant
Presentation of food was decent but did not tatse how it lookes it was Average for the prices decent size, Atmosphere is very dark and gloomy pretty dead if yu plan on having a gdnight this aint the place as very boring Also found a string in the food which is not to big of a deal but kitchen should be lookomg out for these things not to happen staff were friendly amd polite thats why i gave 3 instead of 2
Great service, great food, cozy atmosphere, outstanding live music on the weekends, can't wait to go there again.
I recently had dinner in this restaurant with a Lithuanian friend. I wasn't impressed at all. The best dish, I had, was the beetroot soup, the Cepelinai were bland and cold. In addition, when I walked in and I informed the Manager that we had a reservation under my friend's name, he said he could not find this reservation and perhaps, she booked it in the other branch. He then said goodbye. Really rude of him...and the booking had been made in this restaurant. This really put me off even before tasting the food. Better customer service would go a long way as you won't see me again and I will also provide not very good feedback about your restaurant to my acquaintances.
I loved this place , but I saw some changes from the last time I visited, the waitress in tradicional Lithuanian dresses are not there anymore, the waiter didn't speak Lithuanian, and was not so polite with us, was my birthday. The food was good, at least my order was, restaurant was empty for a Saturday, not many tables booked, but waiter insisted to we leave at 6pm, was even rude, we went in the lunch time about 2:30pm. I really like Lithuanian food and the overall experience at the restaurant I am sure can be better, as used to be, with some small adjustments from the owners. The chef is good in my opinion.
One of the unique and hidden gem restaurants in East London - Stratford area around Leytonstone road. The restaurant deco and ambience are amazing. Being an adventure foodie, I love different cuisine and culture and I love some Traditional Lithuanian cuisine. The chicken grill was delicious and complimented with some lovely salads. Reasonable price for such a beautiful restaurant and thanks to the owner for giving some discount on the final bill. I would recommend anyone who wants to try some authentic Lithuanian dish in London.
