Lovely layout, open plan so you can see the whole kitchen. Good atmosphere and fairly busy for new year time, but not irritatingly busy. Excellent food and very reasonable. The Indian Tapas Menu is very filling and exceptional value for money with starter, rice, naan and two main dishes for £15 pictured. Parking: Don't pay for Marina parking, use the access road it's a two minute walk.
The best dine-in Indian in Hartlepool. The tapas is hard to beat for value and the food is great. Never had an issue with the service and the staff are very friendly. The restaurant also has a full array of vegan options on the back of the menu, and are happy to answer any questions. I find the food is noticeably better sitting in than taking away.
Absolutely amazing food. So delicious and great value for money. I had the tapas special, which is what is shown here. Will definitely be back
My family and I tried Sheesh Mahal for the first time at the weekend, they have disabled access which I was grateful for as I'm an electric wheelchair user, we have severe allergies that the friendly staff said they could cater for and showed us the wonderful vegan selection of food on the menu and replaced dips with vegan alternatives. We had starters and a main each, unfortunately there was no Seitan meat replacement available for the mains but they had tofu or vegetables instead, so we were very happy with those options. The starters were delicious, with a wonderful array of flavour sauces to dip into. The main was exquisite, we all very much enjoyed our choices except for my eldest child, she didn't enjoy the Korma she ordered as it was too strong of a coconut flavour for her, the staff noticed instantly and asked if she would like something different, she tried our dishes and got the same as my wife which was the Balti, and the staff member replaced it immediately. Unfortunately there were no dessert options available for our dietary needs. Something simple like a sorbet on a aquafaba meringue nest with a little compote or syrup would have been perfect. Very impressed with the service, the wonderful staff, and it was very pleasant restaurant to dine in, although rather busy but that happens when the food and service is so good. We will definitely be coming back for more. Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options, but a whole vegan page on the menu too. My family and I are all vegan so we don't look at the vegetarian options as that still often contains dairy and eggs. Kid-friendliness: The staff were very attentive to our childrens needs, providing extra plates and cutlery for sharing, and changed a meal that my eldest disliked at no charge. Wheelchair accessibility: Large electric wheelchair accessible. I use the Quickie Q200 R Wheelchair. The door to sheesh mahal opens wider for accessibility. Dietary restrictions: I'm intolerant to most Meat and Poultry, Dairy, Eggs and I have a deadly Seafood allergy. My son has a deadly Peanut allergy. We informed the staff when making the booking and we were told we could be catered for with no problems.
Absolutely fantastic curry house, curry was blooming lovely. They were fantastic with my children too and were more than happy to accommodate them by making a really mild child's curry which they all ate. Poppadoms and pickle tray were fantastic as were all the side dishes. Atmosphere was a bit dull simply due to how quiet it was which a supprise given how good this place is. However they had the footy on and we all enjoyed watching a bit of the world Cup whilst eating the brilliant food. The house larger is also a winner. Highly recommended
Meal was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed it , what we didn't enjoy was the 1.5 HR wait to get it
Absolutely gorgeous! Lovely staff and great atmosphereFood: 5/5
It was very nice food. Every dish was delicious. Very friendly staff and atmosphere
Overall not bad. Went after work, had the set menu. 2 currys, a rice, a naan, a starter which left us all stuffed. Throw in some poppadoms and a coke and it didnt break £20 which I thought was very reasonable. Food took some time if I'm honest and wasnt the best curry I've ever had but it was enjoyable none the less and at this price I find it hard to complain. Again, not bad. Would go again. Parking: Parking inside of the marina is expensive so a lot of people park on the adjacent road for free. A 1 min walk away.
Stumbled upon this by chance and the food and service were amazing. They were so lovely with my 1 year old too who was being a pain on the **** we will definitely be back Vegetarian options: All the curries had veggie options Kid-friendliness: Lovely with my children Parking: Paid for parking outside but if you park up on the road just outside the marina its FREE
