I don't know how there are any negative reviews. We have been going here since the opening 20+ years maybe?. We get delivery which is always piping hot. The staff are super friendly and are so accommodating to us and always great craic. We have eaten in many Indian restaurants in Dublin and we keep going back to Shanai. Great people great food and great craic. Love from Gavin, Emma and Shirley
The Staff: Went for dinner with my friends. While ordering, our order amount was less than 15 Euros per person which was certainly their minimum order amount per person and not clearly mentioned on their menu card or website, the manager could be anything but rude to let us know that, instead started letting know us the cost of his table cloth and wine glasses as if we were poor and couldn't afford. We went there in a cheerful mood but the first ever conversation with the staff made us felt so low. The Food: Okayish. Naan was up to the mark. Vegetable fried rice tasted nothing like it. While the Dal tadka was probably made of chana dal. Atleast, the food could have lifted up our moods which the staff so perfectly managed to ruin. The Ambience: The only good thing. But what's the point if they do not treat you well or can't be polite. Point here is to treat your customer right and make them feel homely. Even if other things are not perfect, atleast it can be such a cheerful experience that we would think of visiting the restaurant next time.
This food rating was for recent experience 2 days back. Food quality was not as per expectations. Earlier three to four times me and my wife visited for dinner and the experience was immense. You should change chicken badami tikka from your menu. It was like rasmalai Indian sweet.
This is a gem in my neighbourhood, if you're looking for tasty food with possibly the best service I've experienced in a while. Would definitely recommend a visit!
Ordered a mixed meat biryani....very little meat or prawns.... watery sauce had a vile taste 17 euros !!!!! Also starter portions are tiny to say the least....delivery menu is appalling value.....rip off !!!

Tonight when I came to restaurant at 10:00pm in the night I ask for food the staff member of restaurant shouted at me I told him you close at 10:30 he brother we closed ok we are not making food he spoke so Aggressively banged the door so badly so insulting person I wish to meet with owner of the place he shout at me so badlyFood: 1/5
Really bad food again! I’ve been ordering food here, for the last 17 years and it was always a good quality. But it’s disgusting now! Chips hard not cooked. Butter chicken had bones and lumps of grizzle in it. The sauce was water and tasteless. No refund given either as a loyal customer it’s shocking. Won’t use them again.
Fantastic and authentic restaurant. Food was amazing and great ambiance. Staff are really friendly and it was obvious by the way they interacted with customers that this venue has a loyal following of regular clientele.
Incredible Indian restaurant and take away.. lovely owners and staff. So happy and friendly. Best Indian restaurant in Ireland and yes, I’ve tried them all!
