Cosy pub in a location with a great view across rural Huddersfield, friendly staff and a big car park. Dropped a star because the food can be a bit hit and miss; I've previously visited and had burgers which were quite dry and lacked flavour, and steaks which were similar even when extra sauce was paid for. Having said that I've also had lunchtime baguettes including the rump steak baguette which is very tasty and good value for money.
Thoroughly enjoyed my dinner, the service is second to none and all comfortably priced. Gravy could do with an upgrade but that's it, the wife had steak pie which was epic, I had the mixed roast dinner,everything was most enjoyable, beware the starters, they're bigger than you may expect, a bit more sourdough toast and we could have shared the gorgeous pate. We will visit again.
Very warm and friendly pub which serves a few real ales. The food menu is superb ant caters for all tastes. The tapas menu available on select nights is amazing. Becareful the traditional large fish and chips menu is like ordering a whale. Just wish we didn't live so far away as this would become our local.
Fabulous local pub! Great range of beers on tap. Extensive menu and does a delicious Sunday lunch. Definitely worth a return visit.
Incredibly cosy and atmospheric country pub. Fantastic food-homemade. Great menu selection and mouth-watering specials. Pretty much made my way through the extensive speciality Gins, I'm there so often. But they're so delicious I can't help it, . Cask ales and all the regulars you'd expect, but done REALLY well But ey, up! Dont just take my word for it, have a try for yourself.
We booked a table for 6 people, a baby and a dog for lunch on a Saturday. Food was excellent and service very attentive. Good vegetarian options. Good parking area across the road. Definitely will go there again.
Mediocre steak pie - too much pastry, not much filling - dried up edges - overwhelmed with chips. On the plus side veggies we're good as was the Farmers blond
