I love it here. The food is first class every time, great service and atmosphere too. Its not cheap but the quality delivered is worth every penny! I had the rump with asparagus side. Also the Korean barbecue cauliflower starter had at same time. It was gorgeous!
Nice little pub with a decent range of beers and ciders on offer. Good food, and good value for money. Lots of outdoor seating and nice decor inside too.
Having moved into the area during Covid never had a chance to visit until today. Though based on what we had it will not be the last time. The Sunday lunch must be up there with the best of anywhere. Both the beef and pork were succulent, Yorkshire puddings crisp and big, mashed potatoes nice and creamy, roast potatoes cooked to perfection and veg was cooked just right. Additionally there is a nice selection of ales and all delivered with great service. A must visit. Another visit that did not disappoint at all
I went for Lunch to celebrate my friends Birthday. She had been here before and wanted to go back. You can order food and drink via a QR code from your table. This reminded me of some of the ways we got through issues in covid and the technology stayed. Its a nice place not the standard multinational company that pretends to have old world charm. This is the genuine thing. Throw back to Smoke Room are still in place on the wall. The food was Good we seemed to have to wait but that me is a sign that the food is cooked and not just pinged together. My only preference is that it could be a bit brighter. The wall lights seemed yellow and my daughter seemed to appear red in the seat she was in. So maybe a few more Led bulbs cheap to run but would inhance the meal. It's a dog friendly pub which is good for trade. All under 16 to be out of the pub by 8.30. In summary enjoyed food enjoyed my beer or neck oil as they called it.Would go again.
Unfortunately, the service was not attentative enough to customers orders. If there is large parties of bookings its difficult for food to be served in a timely manner. Other than that the main course was nice... as for the starter of pate, a better quality of pate is needed. Also it is a rather cool establishment..
Went for a meal on Saturday and there was 6 of us eating. The food was lovely and served quickly. They had ran out of a certain alcohol for a cocktail we wanted and one of the staff nipped out to buy the alcohol! Also gave us a free round of shots! 10/10!
Lovely local pub with wonderful staff. Food and drinks are top notch, be it for a sneaky date night midweek or a quiet ish girlie night on a weekend. Highly recommend sitting in the teepee and don't leave until you've tried the blue cheese loaded fries, to die for!!! Cocktails are delicious and not overloaded with ice like you'd find in town. Dave, the landlord, is a proper top guy who'll help out where ever possible. He goes all out at Christmas for the kids, the grotto is a must see!
1st time in here after 15yrs was amazed at the olde worlde decor brilliant ales on requested as was all those yrs back. 1st time ever dining here staff very courteous and attentive, definitely worth a visit especially for the nostalgic settings especially been outside hearing the birds singing in a countryside setting next to the old church.
Great friendly atmosphere good staff . We had Sunday lunch which was excellent and plenty of it ,in fact we took some home for our dog. Would recommend.
Lovely setting, country views, marquis outside for shelter and shade, lots of seating indoor and outdoor, great for big events and small. Staff friendly, landlady is has great banter and very welcoming. Food portions huge! Really great local traditional pub.... Huge gin selection too.
