"Classic country pub serving freshly cooked food along with Yorkshire real ales and a premium drinks range. Beautiful beer garden with views in summer and roaring log fires in winter. A lovely and iconic British rural pub."

Took my daughter for food and it was delicious. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Great warm atmosphere.
Just had the best carvery I’ve ever eaten! If I had one criticism it’s that there was too much food!! The meat was perfectly cooked, great variety of vegetables and probably the most delicious gravy I’ve ever had. Highly recommend.
Extremely poor meal. Our food took an hour to come and I wish I could say it was worth it. To be fair everyone else’s meals were fine but the vegetable lasagne was basically pasta and tomato sauce, it come with 3 small slices of garlic bread which were burnt and stone cold. When we mentioned it to the waitress all we got in response was “well I had one last night and it was lovely, hope it doesn’t put you off coming again”, not the level of service you would hope. Very disappointed.
Disappointed went out for my fiancé’s birthday meal the day after Valentine’s Day - no steak, no chicken no fish! Would have thought they’d have restocked supplies! Landlady/barmaid verging on rude with her attitude and the way she spoke. Bottle of wine extortionate.
Beautiful food! The Carvery is absolutely humongous and utterly delicious! The gammon was so tasty and the veg was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back.
Waste of space management. Ricardo is never to be seen and the new Manageress is completely clueless. The staff try their best despite being up against it. We've walked out on two occasions due to be left waiting for service, once for food and the other just for drinks. Won't be back!
We went here for a carvery and was told we had to wait until the chef got it ready which we found strange has it had been on a few hours, 40 minutes later we was told we can go up and queue. The food itself was a real let down, the beef was inedible it was very pink and soggy I wouldn't even feed it to my dog, the Yorkshire puddings tasted very greasy and quite strange, the roast potatoes had that strange taste also, the mash was lumpy with hard potatoe chunks and the gravy wasn't very tasty either. The best thing on the plate was the broccoli which is saying something. When asked how our food was twice in the space of 4 seconds quite abruptly.. feeling rushed to answer, my mum said 'it's fine' as she's not one to complain where as I said 'I don't like mine' but as I was saying it she went OK and walked off. When another waitress came to clear the mostly full plates she never questioned why or asked if it was OK, so I told her I didn't enjoy mine and neither did any of us and that was all 7 of us, she said sorry about that and I also explained to her about the waitress before that table checked us but nothing was done about it. I have been here in the past a few years back and it was half decent but its gone really downhill since then. There was also lots of drinkers at the bar which made it hard to get past to pay for the food. I won't be returning here, and I would recommend others to pass on the carvery
Gorgeous pub and lovely hosts.. The food smelled Gorgeous. We will be back
Called in for England wanted to order food at 7:20pm told kitchen closed. 45 mins later staff behind bar all eating food from kitchen, will go back to our usual pub to watch sport.
Had the Carvery today… big portions and pleanty of meat, found it ok but not amazing… everything a bit tasteless … roast potatoes over done and disappointing Yorkshire puddings … it was ok but won’t be rushing back …
