Wonderful day out for all the family from 2 to 79! Went for my father's birthday and reserved a table. The service was outstanding especially from the chef!, lovely fresh salad, gorgeous sticky toffee pudding, made that day and beautiful grounds to stroll in. Thank you Scampston. Dad was delighted.

What can I say? LOVELY building and gardens with the most spectacular history. A great team, who put a lot of effort into preserving and archiving their illustrious history. Well worth a visit even if just to have a relaxing afternoon. Food is tasty as well!

An incredible experience! A tremendous level of effort applied to this garden and surrounding area.

It is worthwhile visiting this large walled garden, with modern design by Piet Oudolf. The modern Cafe has friendly staff, with a glass wall and tables inside and out. We enjoyed their excellent scones and coffees. They also serve meals. Getting there by car was easy.

Well were do I start! Me and my girlfriend thought it would be a good idea to take mum to see the garden and house, left Leeds at 10:30 thought I might hit delays due to Tour De Yorkshire, got there no problems, went to desk to pay £27 for three of us, no discount for mum being a pensioner! House closed ( what not open when a big event like the Tour De Yorkshire on, more people to come and see it) Thought we d have a cup of tea and a bun, decided on three soups and cups of tea £21. Went to look at gardens no flowers in bloom, no labels on flowers (come on ) I ve got flowers in my garden in bloom at this time of year so what happened to yours? Loved liked they d been cut back last week! Has the look of a gaden in winter! SHAMBLES! DON'T OPEN GARDENS IF THEIR NOT READY Its really not that hard to grow plants! No signs up to direct you each part of the walled gardens, no discount for very little to look at, put bedding plants in or do just bloody something! What also got me was lack of pure shame in asking for £27 to look round! House grounds are a joke too! All I can think of is the reason the house was closed was the owner was away on his yacht in Morocco enjoying his ill gotten gains from his so called gardens! Mum so disappointed! Heres some advice, listening I hope you are, use the plants you've got growing in the "garden centre" at the main entrance which you sell to the public (visitors) which miraculously has flowers on and shove the little bleaders in the ground, see look, I m not asking for you to split the atom! How does it felt to sleep on your goose downpillows knowning that you ve robbed the public? At least Dick Turpin had the god dam decency to wear a mask, while he robbed you!
