Recently bought an MX5 from Chris at Mortimer Cars - having never bought from a dealer before was a little apprehensive - however, the service that Chris gave was exceptional - he was very honest about the car and pointed out the defects there were very few and were very minor - just a few paint touchups the car was delivered to my home address the defects having been rectified. It was a pleasure dealing with Chris and I would definitely purchase another car from him. Would recommend.

Worst experience of my life. Started off with the car getting delivered, followed by a police summons for the driver speeding. The car was delivered with dents, scratches etc then shortly not useable and straight into a garage. They told me choose one locally, which i did, the garage did the work and then they refused to pay for months destroying my relationship with a local garage. The rear suspension airbag went Was replaced by my local garage but did not code it in. So they said they would take it back down south I live in Newcastle, and have their own garage sort it. I was fine with that under the condition they didnt drive it down. They promised me it wouldnt be driven, but obviously, as most dealers do, lied. It was driven with no rear suspension, used all of my V power Approx £130 at the time of fuel and again, lied point blank on the phone saying it was on the back of a truck getting transported, when i saw sat watching my Scorpion Tracker. Shocker! They then had it into a local BMW garage, and then CHARGED ME for some of the repairs. At this point I just wanted my car back so I paid. The car then was returned with large amounts of scratches down the driver side, a dented front wheel and balooned trye, again from a delivery driver who cannot do their job. When confronted about this, they did pay for a new tyre, but no wheel repair. When confronted about the scratches they said "It doesn't matter you are going to get it detailed anyway".  I would absolutely not recomend this garage, more specifically Chris. He puts on a customer friednly voice to get a sale, then once he's got your money, will do everything in his power not to help, and prolongue any repairs and owed money. Granted they did offer an additional 3 month warranty, but by this point I was ready to sell it and be done with it.  I have full conversation logs, photos and so on of this entire experience. Never again.

Shocking service, called Sunday to go an view a bmw x5, arrived at a house in abingdon- the man showing the car couldn’t decide what name he was going by3 different names given my partner started to ask questions about the car, which the man showing the car could not answer, become very defensive. And ended up telling us he was no longer happy for us to look over the car nor sell it to us! Would not recommend at all!

Recently purchased a Mini Clubman of Chris ,what a pleasure to deal with he has restored my faith in Motor dealers .Had a small issue that he sorted with no Problem .If you want to buy a second hand care off an honest dealer look no further than Mortimer cars highly recommend .

I brought a Bmw X5 from Mortimer Cars and my experience here was exceptional. The manager Chris runs a proffesional outfit, he only had the BMW 2 days and insisted that the vehicle went through his garage before I purchased it. I picked it up 2 days later with the required work completed, the car valeted, keys and paperwork ready to go. Refreshing to see a private car trader who cares about his reputation, customers and cars.

I bought a VW Scirocco on finance with Chris and he was fantastic, he was helpful every step of the way answered all my questions as never dealt with finance before and did everything as quick as possible. He also delivered the vehicle which is a massive plus. 100% recommend Mortimer cars in future.

Sadly a rather poor all round experience with Chris Mortimer, my partner purchased a Used BMW.  I did all the negotiations as she wasn't confident in doing so, I work for Mercedes   We were informed about the damage that was on it before deciding to buy, but it arrived with considerably more damage than was initially described, also service light was still showing for overdue Brake Pads  Which we had to pay to have it reset, £40,  work had been done  No warranty paperwork given or even set up, as we were told it was a Trade Sale after completion of the deal.  Not something we had agreed to at any point  The main point buying from a dealer was for the pre inspection of the car to make sure it was a good example of a used car & the warranty. No V5 has been sent despite chasing a total of 5 times, just fobbed off constantly saying it will be applied for & sent to us  Still not arrived, had to apply for it ourselves at our own expense another £25  A disappointing all round experience,  one we will not be repeating with this so called dealer.

Me and my dad both bought Mazda Mx5s from Chris and we are over the moon. The cars are beautiful at a very fair price and Chris talked us through everything we needed to know. There were no hard line sales techniques or feeling pressured to buy. Chris is just a thoroughly nice and honest man who just loves cars. There was a minor issue with my car and when I called there was no arguing about fixing it, he just picked it up and got it back to me when he said he would. Honestly can't recommend this place enough. Very trustworthy and true to his word and made me feel very at ease with my first big purchase. Thanks so much Chris for the great cars and customer service.

Bought my first Mazda MX-5 from Chris who was extremely helpful and patient with my many questions. Bought on the Saturday new tyres, full clean and dropped on the Wednesday you can tell there is a lot of care taken with each vehicle being sold. Would recommend.

Excellent service throughout. My car had a couple of issues after purchase which were all sorted quickly and efficiently; I felt very well looked after and would recommend Chris and his team, they went over and above to support me and I am very pleased with my car, thanks Chris
