AVOID this dealership they could not care less about looking after your vehicle. Harwoods Basingstoke have badly damaged my F-Type when in for a service. Scratched the driver's door sill down to the bare metal, mis-aligned the bonnet and slammed it shut damaging the bonnet and the side vent. Inside the car, although I cannot be 100% sure, it appears they have marked a switch and pillar on the centre console too. To top it off they even had the audacity to hand the car back covered the car covered in greasy hand prints. Despite being promised a call immediately the next day to get it repaired, I have had to chase the Assistant Service Manager via call and email and even then, nearly at the end of the week no resolution. UPDATE: After considerable chasing, Harwoods Jaguar collected the vehicle and took it off to be repaired. After stating it would be approximately 3 days, the vehicle was returned a week later. Upon inspection, only half of the repairs have been done! The door sill is repaired, but the bonnet and vent still haven't been. Tracy who replied to my review was emailed promptly after and never even responded. This dealership is not fit to be responsible for customers' vehicles, let alone high-end ones. Original review: Faith restored in Jaguar dealers. Thank you to Neil Bowers and the team. Brilliant customer service, throughout - service department has been very accommodating and efficient. Had some issues with some noises and handling and their team booked in an inspection literally the next day. Offered to charge the car as the battery overnight as it was showing as low and were very reasonably priced.
Was looked after by Nicholas Walker. Was superb to deal with. Bought the car online, video sent of the inside and out which was helpful. Top class service from start to finish. This is the 3rd Jaguar i’ve had but the service from Hardwoods and Nick was on a different level. Can’t recommend these guys highly enough. Will be my first port of call when i change my car. I bought my Range Rover from here. Ben was the salesman that I interacted with. Ben was polite and extremely helpful. The car had some minor snags, but I always felt supposed through out the buying process, and post sale too. Overall my experience was excellent.
Once you purchase a car the communication from this company falls off a cliff. There were a few issues with the car we bought, which I understand as things don't always go perfectly, but the lack of effort from them to keep us updated is shocking. They have had our car for two weeks now and I have no idea when it will be returned to us. I chase them once or twice a week to try and find out and it usually takes around 5-6 calls to be able to actually speak to someone who can help. Ironically part of the issue is that the only person who can gives us updates is the person who sold us the car, and every time I call in he is busy selling cars.
The car had a thorough video clearly pointing work what needed to be done. Service Personnel and the Aftersales Manager Neil, have been very helpful and thorough and kept me in touch with the process and costs. I know the car is in safe and competent hands. Thank you everyone
Service of F-type Flawless end to end service from Lauren Coventry and Neil Bowers, from handover to collection, they carried out all required items, plus an additional request I had. Lauren kept me constantly updated on progress, Neil is clearly technically very knowledgeable on F-types and the car was spotless when I collected it. Polite, professional and helpful, I couldn’t ask for anything more.
I have been using my local main dealer , Harwoods the last 12 or more years , for over 30 years. They always look after me so well. Just had my Jaguar serviced together with a couple of other jobs this week and as usual the service from Lucy the service advisor and the rest of the service team was great. The reception girls ,Shannon and Giverny, alway greet you like a friend, always a pleasure to go in. Thank you again Harwoods.
Most of my life I have been driving a variety of Mercedes cars, and BMWs. Most recently I have decided to enter the EV market, and came across the Jaguar I-PACE. Outstripped any other brand we tested in terms of power, refinement, space and looks, we decided to visit our local Jaguar Dealer in Basingstoke. Over the many years of driving, I have dealt with many different dealerships, showrooms and sales representatives. Within Harwoods, we had the great pleasure of meeting Suki Gill. His excellent knowledge and customer service skills outshone any of our previous dealers. Suki is a real ambassador for the Jaguar name and the Harwoods group.
Our experience started well, having secured a car approx 2 years old that Harwood Basingstoke had in stock. The service then fell off a cliff. Wanted to collect on a specific day, this was inconvenient for Harwoods but we pushed for it and it was agreed. On collection, a colleague of who we had been dealing with carried out the "hand over". I've had better service when buying a sandwich. He was so disinterested and didn't even get up from his desk. He could not care less. A few minor body repairs were meant to have been carried out as part of the purchase, some had not upon collection. Car started to squeak after 2 weeks and under warranty I wanted it to be looked at. The garage were insistent I drove the 1 and a half hours each way to return the car for it to be looked at. I asked as it was a JLR warranty why it can't go to a JLR garage only a few miles from my house. I am now simply not even getting a response to me emails and still waiting for an answer from Sue. I asked to speak to someone else and that was also ignored. No matter how shiny the badge above the dealership door, car dealers are all the same, not interested as soon as you drive away. Shocking service.
My initial contact with Harwoods was by email on a Wednesday in late September. My communication and enquiry was picked up by Terry Colwell, Sales Executive. Terry had good product knowledge of the vehicle I had expressed interest in. He was polite and professional in his communication, which continued outside the normal working sales hours of the dealership. I followed this up with a phone call and an appointment was made to see the vehicle in question on Friday, the very next day. A warm welcome by the reception staff and we were invited in to the waiting area, where refreshments were offered immediately. Terry joined us some minutes later and took us out to Land Rover Discovery. Terry is clearly an experienced Sales Executive and multi skilled in that he is equally as knowledgeable in Jaguar and Land Rover Products. This is great as having such skill sets means you have continuity with the same individual at the dealership if your interest in a particular marque should change. Terry also introduced us to Steve his Business Manager. The valuation on our part exchange was considerably greater than we had been offered at our local Jaguar Land Rover Dealership. The quality of the Approved Used vehicle was also far greater than we had seen elsewhere. After some horse trading and friendly banter , we agreed on the deal to purchase the car. Circumstances meant we had a handover agreed for the following Monday. Terry explained that he was going to be off that day, but that in order to see the sale through, he would come in to personally complete the handover. Whilst the vehicle was Approved Used, the presentation of the Discovery in the handover bay was immaculate. It looked as good as a new car! Terry methodically went through all the paperwork, ensured nothing was missing, copies of service history, new mot, hard copy of Land Rover Approved Used Checklist, Breakdown information. He completed online DVLA notifications in our presence. Nothing was missed and refreshments topped up for the duration. A totally faultless and professional conclusion to our purchase. We left with a totally positive purchasing experience. On arriving home we noticed that 2 wheel arch trims were not engaged as they should have been and that the remote control unit for the rear entertainment system was missing . We also noticed a small smudge mark on the paintwork, which was only really visible in bright sunlight. Photos sent to Terry. He quickly responded , apologised that the remote was missing and advised service dept would correct the trims and paint issue. He also advised he had ordered a new remote control unit. We agreed a date to return to Harwoods to have the work done. Terry explained he had picked the date, so he would be present , just in case service had any queries. We duly returned. The mis aligned trims were fixed, the paintwork blemish was polished out and the car was given a full valet before being handed back. We were looked after on the day by Arron Mears, Service Advisor. Arron was a consummate professional, managing our expectations totally. Unfortunately, the new remote control unit needed to be programmed to the car for it to work. When Arron came hand the car back he quickly explained the car needed a full software update for this to happen but to focus on the solution rather than the problem he had booked the car back in again and had also allocated a courtesy vehicle for us for 2 days. What could have easily been a negative , was presented as a problem solved positive. A lengthy review. However, what I’ve witnessed is a dealership where the various departments clearly openly communicate with each other, thus ensuring that the sales and customer service experience was faultless throughout. The products are great. A final mention to Giverny on reception whose meet and hospitality skills made you feel genuinely welcome. Faultless good old fashioned customer service from a dealership that clearly work hard to achieve that. They certainly have staff that are a major asset to the business Highly recommended !
