I have lived in Saughton all my life and have been coming to this park since I was a child. I have never seen it so alive. It's beautiful to see so much care and development in this area. The cafe is great. The skate park is always bustling with people. It's just such a lovely place to be.
One of my favourite places in this park is the gardens. I love flowers, and we can find a variety of them from wild to tropical flowers and plants, and the colors are amazing. In the interior there is a fishbowl with lovely redfishes surrounded by floating plants. Apart of the garden, the coffee shop, playground, workout machines and other spaces meet your expectations of your waking experience. Highly recommended if you come to Edinburgh.
Love this place. The chance to see otters and Kingfishers is rare but magical. Some stunning colours at the moment with all of the Iris out in full bloom. Great place for our lurcher to run. Our grandson goes for the skatepark every time and will not want to leave every time.!
Quite a huge Park. Rose Garden was nice to watch. The entire garden lives with different roses. the view is wonderful. Lots of play area for kids . Overall, thumbs up
Since I've moved into the area, this place has quickly become my oasis of peace, it's beautifully maintained, offers many things to do and see, you can relax inside in the garden of tranquility with Gandhi and Big Mother, hold the torch with Dreamer of Peace statue, use the public restroom, get a coffee and snack, feed squirrels, feed on sunshine and flowers and trees, observe birds at a nearby river stream, explore a herb garden, it truly is a gem amongst Edinburgh Parks and my place to go to when I wanna just sit, relax, unwind or read a good book.
Absolutely lovely park, incredibly clean and well kept. There are free public toilets, a nice coffee shop and plenty of small walks. The play area is really good, even our 10 month old crawling son could enjoy it - there’s baby swings, a sandpit, an area for toddlers, slightly older kids then heading more towards teens. It really is an amazing free space, Scotland does such a good job of parks compared to England.
Nature meets fun at this park! The beautiful surroundings make it the perfect place to relax and unwind, while the huge playground provides endless entertainment for kids and adults alike. Whether you're in the mood for a peaceful walk or an active playtime, this park has something for everyone.
Lovely little park for a short walk. The Physic Garden is really interesting if you like history, plants or both - especially nice in the summer when all the herbs are in bloom. Also has a nice greenhouse which is open year-round and has some seating. Not a bad place for a trip.
This is local to me and a fantastic amenity. A quiet haven in the midst of a busy suburban environment. On a sunny summer day I prefer here to princes at gardens or the meadows. It's relaxed, there's beer on tap from the café and always a nice crowd. Playground: Huge playground in two sections for younger and older kids. Restrooms: Attached to the cafe but free to use. Dog-friendliness: Massive park. So dogs can roam in peace. Picnic area: Lots of spots to picnic in the rose gardens.
A well maintained park with plenty on offer for everyone. Great parks for the kids sports fields, basketball court, large skate park and great scenic gardens to escape from the city scene. Has a nice cafe on site with public toilets and local parking.
