A lovely walk with stunning views of Hillend, A theatre stage, surrounded by trees, is separated from the seating area, built into the Hillside by a burn. Don’t rush the stage. Tea in the Park, their Annual family fun day, Saturday 3rd September 2022 would be worth a visit.
Great place for a stroll with the dogs. Well kept, and dog owners seem to pick up after their dogs. Busy with dog walkers, families, joggers and the occasional cyclist. A nice spot to while away an hour or so.
I have lived in Tollcross for most of my years and passes by here many times, the steps have been visible and always wondered what it was like. First time for everything. Well I am pleased to say it's a terrific space, perfect for walking the dog, you can go right on through to Swanston. Well this was the day. Loved it.
Great park. Big slopes on both sides they meant it when they named it "valley", pleasant burn flowing through it, nicely looked after. Look out for the outdoor stage flanked by trees, with seats cut into the grass slope opposite. There's a permanent orienteering route marked out. A great thing to do with kids maps available for free online. Lots of space and normally not too busy. Great for dog walking - you'll meet lots of others doing the same. If you want to avoid bikes, keep on the side without the path. There's a small river "the burn". If you want to keep your dog away from that, then stay up at the top of the slopes on either side. Playground: No playgroundb equipment, but there is a wicker "den" at the southern end. Plus, the bridges, slopes and burn give kids lots of things to do. There's also a permanent orienteering route set out in the park, which is a great activity for kids search online for downloadable maps. It's a very easy route. Restrooms: No toilets in the park or nearby. Dog-friendliness: Great for dog walking - you'll meet lots of others doing the same. If you want to avoid bikes, keep on the side without the path. There's a small river "the burn". If you want to keep your dog away from that, then stay up at the top of the slopes on either side.
Nice, calm walk beside the river, lots of space for dogs to run around. Bins are usually not too full
Excellent, quiet place for a walk with the kids. Also the ideal spot for sledging if there's snow.
I love this place .. my husband and I often walk after we take my Daughter to school and I like that so many daffodin flowers
The Braidy is a great wee picnic area for all the family , Popular with dog walkers , The wee burn has brown wild trout that are quite visible when in season at certain spots like the Horseshoe Bridge which leads through to the Hermie,Hermitage the Braidy is also a shortcut for people from Oxgangs when walking into the town .
Such a beautiful scenery out look upon the castle ,I love to go there and feel such peace, plus its so tidy and really well looked afterso in love as we all go to sit and relax watch the dog's too x
Great park for running through, either along the burn or up the sides. Park is very clean with information boards scattered about the place and a new outdoor gym in the south east corner.
