Amazing food, gives you that old school Italian feel. The servers are so good and quick with your requests. We had home made pasta and poussin with tiramisu and espresso for dessert.
No reservation required on the Wednesday evening that I dined. Fresh food. Nice presentation, although an Italian restaurant I recommend the salmon. They were happy to change the potato dish to the choice I desired. Relaxed atmosphere. The toilets are clean and simple, much like you would find in Italy.
Decided to book a table here on the anniversary of Princess Diana’s death as it was her favourite restaurant. It certainly lived up to expectations. The service was very attentive & the food was all homemade which was just delicious. Lovely way to end our Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk. Highly recommended.
Great service from the staff here, as always. Everyone very friendly and welcoming. Food is great, especially for me with my food intolerances, they were very helpful indeed. The chicken and balsamic reduction was always my favourite, with the most delicious mashed potato :-
OK . BUT NOT worth a return visit. Service bordered on awful and the food was Barely acceptable. Multiple requests and corrections is the only way to characterize service and the food itself was tasteless and/or over cooked. Server was pleasant, but clueless. My Guess: a classic tourist venue that doesn't worry about repeat biz; and may be coasting along on the basis of former 'glory days' under different mgmt?
Quality restaurant in the center of London. It has very classy and sophisticated appeal. It's suitable for business meetings or casual family dinner, whatever you like. The food is good but the menu needs a little variety. Anyway, the restaurant is great and I recommend it.
Very warm friendly family run Italian restaurant, truly authentic Italian food, complimented by a traditional decor. I love both the conservatory area when I am with a party, but when I am enjoying a romantic meal with my wife I prefer the more intimate tables. I would definitely recommend Lorenzo's if you enjoy traditional Italian food and hospitality.
Had read reviews online and the menu looked good however we left after our starters as this was a 50th celebration for my partner and it did not live up to expectations. One waiter didn't speak English and couldn't understand when we asked what bottled beer they had. Our bread was in a basket but no olive oil or balsamic vinegar offered until we asked they brought the jug and bottle over and we had to use our side plates! They quoted a cover charge but offered no olives, or complimentary water and as well as the starters being extremely simple charging main meal prices for starters of 2 ingredients i.e. tomato and mozzarella or spinach leaves with minimal gratings of pecorino cheese does not constitute value for money in my book - particularly with a service charge added which I realise is common for most restaurants but not when they justify using cheaper ingredients in a bigger portion to justify their prices. So we decided to cut our losses and leave after one course which still cost around £57 for two starters and two drinks. A real shame as the layout and décor is very nice but the atmosphere and service is severely lacking and no attempt to rectify our experience was made by any of the staff. All was not lost as we had a very enjoyable Pizza Express meal with drinks a few doors down!
San Lorenzo since 1963 has been and establishments got top Italian restaurants in London. Good food good service and great atmosphere. The owners personal touch does the rest. Don't miss it.
San Lorenzo is such a classy-constant in these times of trendy fly-bys. Maria and the staff are always welcoming and great if the legend that is Lorenzo is around to add his smile to that welcome. If you want to dip your toe and taste real, non-globalised London - this is your place. If you're wanting to shout over loud music and be served by inexperienced wannabe super-models San Lorenzo's not for you!
