I had taken my mum on a bit of a shopping spree and had just come out of Harrods and she really fancied some Italian food that we didn't need to take a mortgage out for! We found Ciro's on a side road via Google that was about a 5-6 walk from Harrods, it doesn't look much from the outside but the food was lovely I had spaghetti meatball and mum had chicken in mushroom sauce and tiramisu for dessert it was cooked from fresh and really tasty, would recommend if you are nearby. Apparently there is also a nightclub below the restaurant that gets many famous faces in as well.
Is it very hard for me to rate the experience at Ciro as it is a 1 star for food and 5 star for athmosphere. I was shocked when my pizza arrived to the table, I immediately thought I didn’t order a BABY pizza. I think in Italy even baby pizzas are bigger than this one. If the size wasn’t bad enough, it has NOTHING to do with pizza. The dough is chewy, flat and obviously not baked in a wood fire oven. Probably the worst pizza I’ve ever had. AWFUL. Overpriced with pizza starting from £12.95 and cocktails £12.50. The margarita was bad, I would go with wine only. I don’t mind paying this price when the quality is up to standard but this is not the case, neither for food or drinks. The athmosphere on the other side is AMAZING. The energy is beautiful. The live music was superb, we had so much fun! I would probably come back for drinks only I suggest you to stick to wine or beer. Anyone who at least once ate a real Italian pizza would never ever enjoy the food in this place. Total bill: 3 baby pizzas, 2 glasses of wine and 4 cocktails = £126.50. Not worth it
The food was nothing special but the ambience and music more than made up for it. Great fun for a Tuesday night. I highly recommend if you are in a party mood.Food: 4/5
I went on a Monday, the vibes were amazing, just didn’t like the tables to close so I couldn’t have a conversation without the person next to me listening, we ended up talking to each other, I just tried few small plates and quite a lot drinks, I loved everything. The staff were very nice to me.
Lovely vibrant place with friendly waiters and good food. I went on an open mike day where people went to sing with the band. Really fantastic experience. The people who went up to sing were incredibly professional and many did their own version of cover songs. Book your seats as it became crowded very quickly.
Party atmosphere, brilliant live music, home-like food. A tad bit dull service but nonetheless a fun evening
We had an Amazing time celebrating a 50th birthday party. Food was quick, generous portions, and above all delicious Was amazed with the Vegan Pizza - best I’ve ever had outside my own kitchen..!! Service with a smile from our hostess Sasha was genuinely friendly Was a surprise to see an old neighbour from Wembley singing live on stage. Will certainly be returning back again soon. Vegetarian options: Vegan pizza was literally the best offered - lots of generous fresh toppings. Ate the whole thing
So this place is very particular about their booking policies So I booked this restaurant on the 8th Oct for the 28th Oct however our circumstances changed so I cancelled the booking on the 14th Oct a week later and two weeks before the reservation date. At the time of booking the restaurant took £40 deposit which they tried to retain saying its a non refundable amount no matter if you cancel or not. I told my husband £40 is alot of money and that we should ask if we can change the date of the reservation rather than loosing the deposit, so he did...he emailed the headoffice about changing the date of the reservation to use up the deposit. We went to the restaurant and the food i cannot fault was amazing but the service was the opposite. We had a child so they put us in the corner away from the rest of the customers. it was literally dirty dancing..baby in the corner When I asked to sit near the fish tank as my daughter really wanted to sit by the fish they said no as the reservation was till 8.30. the world cup football was on and tho they were showing it on the screen we watched it on our phone being in the corner, maybe punished for having a child with us I do not know. The fun began when the bill came and they did not deduct the £40 from the bill so it took a full 40 mins to proof between 5 menbers of staff and a lot of photos taken to proof the email was agreed that £40 was taken and headoffice agreed to let us rebook by now it was 9.10 and we was suppose to give up our table at 8.30 and my daughter really just wanted her bed. After explaining how I cancelled the booking two weeks before giving plenty of time to refill the booking I asked why they retained the £40 deposit. ITS COMPANY POLICY!! You mean the company are being greedy to take money from people for no reason as you obviously fulfil that booking considering how busy they are. After the 5th waitress/I dont know what her role was, but her name is Lina something she said "do not book here again" my simple response was if you didnt steal from me I wouldnt book again. The only reason I booked again was because the restaurant took £40 deposit and I am sorry for me that is not a small amount that paid almost 50% of our bill if I didnt pay service charge which i should have refused too considering we spent so long trying to resolve the payment of the meal. When it came to payment Lina bought over a credit card machine that was declining our cards despite funds being available and blamed us for our cards. when she bought a new machine it cleared straight away so clearly there was no issue with our card but their machine. In light of what happened we are not short of Italian restaurants in London and I will not be booking this place again as per Lina advice. I still stand by the chef his food was amazing but the staff the restaurant should really rethink as they all say we just work here but no one wants to take actual responsibility apart from Lina who believes its ok to take someones money even if they cancelled 2 weeks before. As I told the manager I totally understand retaining my money if I cancelled 24 hours before as you cannot cancel staff and stock but two weeks before gives you plenty of opportunity to plan ahead why you take a customer money I do not understand!! ITS JUST GREED!!
The owner of this place, Ciro is quite popular with everyone. He has met hundreds and thousands of celebrities around the world including US Presidents. Nice way to show off his popularity at a pizzeria. Found it quite funny to be honest. But the food was great and ambience is really nice, they host karaoke nights every Friday Saturday and Sundays I think. Love the traditional thin crust Margherita pizza. However the only downside is that being a well known pizzeria around Knightsbridge that is operating for over 40 years, it is situated in a basement. So it can get claustrophobic and a bit uneasy for some people when it’s overcrowded. So bear in mind to visit during peak hours.
Ciro's Pizza Pomodoro is one of my favourite restaurants and live venues for music, even though its only my second time going there. The restaurant is fantastic, from the waitresses and waiters to the excellent food, fast service speeds and electric atmosphere. The restaurant is not large, its in the basement of one of knightsbridge's old style victorian houses but Ciro's does make use of all the space. Many seating choices available, some are not in view of the live performances when they are on. You are definitely able to hear the artists and bands though! The food is fantastic and they also give varying amounts to charity when you order certain pizzas. One of the PIzzas I like is the Texas Ranger! It gives all the proceedings to charity. All £16 of it! The menu tells you what charities the money goes to and what their causes are too. Its a nice touch, not many other places do that. The waitress on the night was fantastic and catered to our every whimper despite being right across the restaurant with lots of tables in the way. Great work young lady! Ciro's is a fantastic place to enjoy a few drinks with your pizza and listen to some classic 70's, 80's, 90's, Jazz or whatever might be playing. If you haven't been go, its an whole new experience feeling of dining. Be Advised! I would highly recommend booking in advance, 9/10 you won't be able to get a table as its always so busy and the restaurant is only small too. Bear that in mind! Dig In!
