Salt Yard

Story

Salt Yard is an award-winning bar and restaurant serving modern tapas inspired by the flavours and produce of Spain and Italy.

The tapas are complemented by charcuterie and cheese boards and we have a wide selection of excellent wines and sherries.

Flexibility is key to Salt Yard. Customers can enjoy a full spread of tapas: or come in simply for a glass of red wine and a plate of cheese, a coffee and a delicious pudding, or even just a perfect martini and a handful of Marcona almonds.

Located in central London- a two minute walk from Goodge St tube station- we are perfectly placed for a business lunch, a pre-theatre meal or a night out with friends. The restaurant is also available for private hire.

My wife and I enjoyed our dinner at Salt Yard. The place was packed on a Tuesday night. We were seated comfortably at the bar counter and Anna greeted us with a smile. She was really helpful with her suggestion and we love her recommendation of the artichoke. The eggplant dish was also very very good. I liked the prawns but my wife who is used to the fresh seafood from our island nation thought that they could be firmer. We asked for some bread to soak up the delicious sauces from each of the dishes and were treated to the very tasty chargrilled flatbread. We have had good food before, but, Anna’s exceptional service has made all the difference to our experience. Will come back!
Salt Yard in London provides an exceptional dining experience with a diverse and flavorful menu. During our visit, the standout dish was undoubtedly the Chorizo Picante, which offered a perfect balance of spice and richness. The prawns were a close second, cooked to perfection with a delightful texture and taste. The baby eggplant also deserves a special mention for its tender and flavorful preparation. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to high-quality ingredients and culinary expertise. The ambiance complemented the meal perfectly, making for an unforgettable dining experience.
Went for a special occasion here and had the BEST food, nice vibes and exceptional service. The tapas made us so full and I found that the patatas bravas and flatbread were as good as the reviews said! Thanks to our waiter on 17/08/24, he provided great service! Would recommend the Burrata and Halibut too!Food: 5/5
Salt Yard has some really lovely Tapas dishes. The grilled octopus was sensational and everything was nice. If you’re in the area and fancy Tapas this is a good option!Food: 4/5
Beautifully curated menu - incredible fresh produce and delicately balanced flavours. Fabulous and attentive staff who go the extra mile especially George, great rustic ambience. Feels like being on holiday in the Mediterranean!
Loved the whole experience. Great food, drinks and service. Will definitely be back again Food: 5/5
First time and were certainly not disappointed. Upon arrival , we were welcomed with a warm smile from the lady at the front. The staff were super amazing and were ever so friendly and attentive. They were excellent and recommend dishes. The food was absolutely delicious; In particular the garlic prawns, seared lock duarte salmon with pickled shallots and caper purée were cooked to perfection, along with the chargrilled flatbread to dip in the sauce. Top marks for our waitress Maria with her good attention to our table needs. And not to forget the lovely venue atmosphere. Thank you to you and your wonderful team, we will certainly be back!!
/2 Padrón peppers £6.5 Hand carved Jamon Iberico small £12 - , /2 Chargrilled flatbread with herb butter £5.5 /2 Fried squid with mayo sauce £12.5 /2 Gilt-head sea bream crudo with bagna cauda, marcona almonds & blood orange £11.5 - , , /2 Chargrilled welsh lamb cannon, cavolo nero, mint pesto & red wine jus £16 /2 Confit king oyster mushroom a la planca with wild mushroom puree & pickled mushrooms £9 - ! /2 Chargrilled artichoke, coconut yoghurt, pomegranate & quinoa salsa £11 - , -, /2 Classic tortilla £8 - ! !! Portion size is definitely on the smaller end but the quality of food has surprised us. Seasoning was on point, not covered in olive oil/covered in salt flakes like other Spanish/Italian restaurant. Service was great, attentive waitors who know their wines inside out. Great chilling/dating spot!
Nice place to eat - came here on a Sunday afternoon - good for people watching on borough market. The food was delicious and the service was good. Bravo Food: 4/5
Lovely little place for a plethora of delicious wine and some decent small plates. Service was excellent, a bit slow at times but overall friendly and attentive. We ate a fair few, all the dishes we had were pleasant but I’d definitely recommend the; - Tempura courgette flower - Grilled octopus with garbanzo stew I hear the croquetas were amazing but I didn’t get to try those. If you’re not drinking much wine, the prices are reasonable… but certainly runs up if you want a few glasses!
