If you have a wedding party booked. You make sure you are stocked up on your beers. Not to have one off before the party even started. Only one till so the staff had to wait for each other to serve. So 20 minute wait. Plus the tills were breaking down over and over. Had to repeatedly ask for toilet paper. No close designated disabled spots. 2 flights of stairs to access the pub. Inside the bar is a nice size so with improvements it could be way better.
Travelled back from holidays on all trains, Malgrat de Mar to Barcelona to Lille to London to Birmingham to Lye no cars or busses used at all. Hop Bomb time. Yum yum
Excellent selection of beers. Leans more toward heavily hopped varities than traditional style ales. That suits me great but may not suit all real ale lovers. Food is excellent and plentiful. Great live bands on a Friday and Saturday but be wary it gets VERY busy and loud on these nights. A real one off type of place. Cant think of another place like it.
The brewery tour was fun and there was a great selection of ales to choose from. The staff were very friendly and helpful
As a craft beer lover from the US but living in the UK, I'm happy to have this brewery not too far away. The brewery tour was fun. And cant beat the beers. Peaky Blinders and Mud City Stout are by far my 2 favorites as I love darker beers like stouts and porters. When I get the taste for something lighter, their Hop Bomb is also excellent. Staff are very friendly. A must visit for beer lovers.
Nice place considering it's in Lye great for partys but was 4 degrees outside which reflected inside at best 8 degrees so would normally stay till the end but more than a few people left by 10 pm they would have lost out on drink sales there reason for lack of heating was its a Covid thing
We visited Sadler's for the first time yesterday and were blown away by the place. Absolutely love live music, plus the beer and food were great. It's 15 miles from where we live and it took 3 trains to get there, but well worth it! Can't wait for next time!!
Went on the Brewery tour today. Guide was insightful and funny and the tour was really informative. The beer available and the range was superb. Only downside was the Ploughmans lunch that came as part of the package. It was put out buffet style and there was a mini rush. Being polite and because there were plenty of people on the tour my partner and I only took small portions. Once everyone had been up, we went back for seconds and we were criticised by the host who said we couldn't as others hadn't eaten despite others going for seconds before us. The remaining food was subsequently removed anyway back to the kitchen. The host made me feel uncomfortable and a bit of a prat to be honest, which was definitely not appreciated. Ended up ordering bar snacks as we were still hungry so we could enjoy the rest of the amazing ales. My advice, if you're on the tour, load your plate otherwise you may go hungry. A dampener on what would have been the perfect experience.
I received my order in good time however despite the promise of free delivery over £40 I got charged delivery of £5.95 on my order of £50.99. I have emailed three times and called but as with everyone else who's had a problem NO RESPONSE! Such a shame on you Sadler Brewery as you have some good stuff. Times are testing for evryone but the ones that shine are the companies who dont use this as a excuse for shoddy service and leave the customer ignored.
Perhaps it was because I visited at a quiet time Saturday afternoon that the place lacked atmosphere. It's a large open space with basic wooden tables & chairs to sit at. There is a nice window onto the brewery itself. I was looking for cask ales, and was surprised that there were only 4 from Sadlers available there were 4 other hand pumps for beer from other breweries. There were several other keg and cider choices available. Considering the beer was brewed only yards away, i was a little surprised that a pint of Peaky Blinder ale cost me considerably more than the same one in my local just a few days before! I think i need to call back when the place is busier :
