About

Breathe in the Borders ....Unwind under Canvas

Whatever your taste in real camping, we have something for you!

Story

Our unique, walled garden campsite or our secluded hill pitches offer the perfect getaway for those looking to relax and unwind under canvas in the peace of our Borders hills.

Ruberslaw Wild Woods Camping is a family run campsite based in our Edwardian walled garden, complete with traditional glasshouse. Pitch your own tent on one of our landscaped pitches and enjoy the gardens.

There are full washroom and shower facilities (with under-floor heating). The communal kitchen has stove, microwave, kettle, fridge and large sinks. For muddy people there is a washing machine and drying green, and boot washes . The large undercover gathering area has tables centred on a large stone fireplace. Or you can have your own barbeque with one of our fire bowls and bag of logs.

In the remoter part of the woods we have 4 exclusive, fully equipped Safari Tents for glampers (just bring your food and toothbrush) and some exclusive pitch-your-own sites. These sites are sensitive and offer a good chance of seeing wildlife if you are quiet and observant, as they are hundreds of metres apart. Numbers per pitch are limited.

We also have 2 Woodland Sites suitable for individuals who don't mind sharing the eco-facilities, or for groups wanting to camp together in the woods.

Sample Rates range from £20 for 2 people and a dog in a small tent having a fire bowl and logs for 1 night in the Walled Garden, mid-week low season, to £47 for 5 people and the dog in a large tent, with the fire bowl and logs, mid-week in July, in the Walled Garden.

Safari tents are £100 per night with a minimum stay of 2 nights and sleep 4 people. Single night stays attract an additional service change.

Love this place. It gets really busy during school holidays and weekends. There are a lot of kids so think twice if you don't have kids. If you do, enjoy the safe, engaging environment and let them roam free! Good shop, lovely staff and generally clean and well thought out shared facilities.

Just returned from Ruberslaw where we camped at Gledswing Lookout for 2 nights. Had a great time. Lovely set up , remote enough from the reception to feel "wild". Great composting toilet and sink area also a large brazier with wood and kindling supplied. Will be back in the spring. Thanks for a lovely stay. Clare and Nigel.

This place is fantastic! The amenities are amazing (including a cooker if your camping experience goes hideously wrong!) There are secluded camping areas allowing you to literally get away from it all, with the option to get someone to take your stuff for you, for a small fee of course!

Lovely, unique site that's really well managed and clean in all the right places. Kids play in the greenhouse and on the lawn. Heard owls and saw bats every night. Quiet by 10pm which is A GOOD THING!

Amazing boutique campsite with a big welcome. You can camp in the Edwardian gardens, or in the woods. Astonishing attention to detail - there's everything you could want in 'the hub' from multiple boot washes, a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, cooker, micro), underheated shower room floors, to wifi & phone chargers. I was very lucky, arriving for just one mid-week night at the end of the season, I had the entire place to myself!
