Beautiful woodland walk we did the Woodland Trail - which took us about an hour and a half taking our time and taking photos with stunning waterfalls and very green despite the trees not yet being in leaf with mosses and lichen in early spring when we visited and signs of bluebells but still a little early when we were there. Highly recommended. Sadly we didn't see much wildlife but we did hear birds in the trees. Have your camera to hand.
Lovely RSPB reserve. Well maintained car park and signposted trails. Some amazing flora and fauna to go with the unusual landscapes. Waterfalls are worth the trip alone!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
A stunning place for a hike, with hardly any people around. It was magical-feeling, the waterfalls were beautiful and the birds were singing in the trees.
Visited the Woods of Cree for a walk. What a gorgeous place this is. Lovely and quiet with beautiful scenery and some really nice waterfalls and rivers/streams. Would visit again.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
Beautiful, undisturbed woodland. We didn't see a huge amount of birds but you can't make demands on Nature. Did see a fabulous fluttering of treecreepers! It was a serene place to enjoy some time and not overrun by crowds of people even in August holidays.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
Gorgeous, ancient woodland with waterfalls, thick mosses and a good path network to follow. Some steeper gradients but well worth it. We went after a heavy rainfall, so the falls were lovely and loud. Lots of vegetation variety, lots of native wildlife, just think they were hiding on this soggy day. Thoroughly enjoyed out walk. Lots and of signposts. Not sure about dog friendly access as it is an RSPB reserve. Restrooms: No restrooms
A fantastic walk through the woods past waterfalls and varied types of woodland , recommend the righthand path first by the Cordorcan Burn as it has a few smaller falls to wet the appetite before coming down the LH path beside the Pulhowan Burn to the large falls which after rain are quite dramatic , takes about a couple of hours
A nice place to stop off for walk and not far from Newton Stewart. We came in from the Girvan road and stopped at the first carpark. Be careful on the drive as it is a tight single track road with few passing place and some overhanging bushes. If you are taking kids and dogs be carefull on the Woodland walk yellow on the map in car park. The reason for this is there are steep drops into the gorge. As a tree surgeon by trade it wiuld be nice to see the Ash trees storted out in the car park as they do have ash die back. It woyld be possible for sections to drop onto cars or people especially in high wind.
Beautiful waterfall but trail markers are non existant, we just had to follow the sound of running water and great panaramic views too.
