Stayed for 2 nights Mainly a static park and lots of rubbish lying around, old wood etc Not very well kept as lots of weeds Toilet block is old and £1 token for showers on top of £28 per night is just cheeky. Grass pitch and was told if we wanted to roll our awning out it would be extra!!!! The previous site we stayed on was £20pn with well laid out pitches, nicer toilet blocks and lovely planters lining different areas. Only positive was closeness to town and a lovely meal in Cree Inn I would not stay here again Noteworthy details: Try somewhere else
Lovely family run caravan park they are so welcoming and so kind. Really genuine people. Site presents well and is well maintained. Needs more facilities and a club house would be great for this site but as a relaxing, welcoming, quiet home a way from home I don't think you could get much better. We have family have just purchased a second home there and are over the moon with the place and say the family couldn't look after them better. Rooms: Nice quiet family run caravan site. Nearby activities: Walking distance to local pubs and town and walks by thr river Walkability: Close to all local amenities and situated next door to a local doctors for those worried about health problems when away from home. Food & drinks: Access locally by walking to loads of supermarkets, cafes and pubs.
Great family oriented park, nice and quiet location near to all amenities.Rooms: 5/5
Poor service, no-one available to check us in, took over 4 hours to 'buy' shower tokens on top of already expensive charges for this level of facilities. Beware prices are not as per website.Showers and toilets are dated and unfinished, weeds growing in paths, generally unkempt, piles of building materials, debris piled in several places. Matriarch style lady barking instructions from chalet raised deck, on everything from dog walking, waste water to elsan points. All in all I would not recommend this site. Noteworthy details: Don't stay here
Mags was amazing. This is primarily a Static/Mobile Home site but with spaces for tourers, who are made very welcome. Lovely wooded location near the River Cree and Newton Stuart. Although a little old, the facilities were clean and regularly maintained. The host , Mags, could not be more helpful, knowledgeable or proud of her community. Wonderful hospitality.
Stayed in a tent for one night, arrived fairly late on and with no booking but they were more than happy to accommodate me. Clean and functioning facilities close to the town centre. The owner was incredibly welcoming offering advice about the local area and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Would highly recommend to any camper, tourer or static caravan lodger!!
When we arrived at this dilapidated caravan park the reception was closed. We were hot sweaty and filthy. I phoned the number on the door and were assigned a place in the hot sun. Shower was not possible because you need tokens for that and since reception was closed there were no tokens. £20 for two cyclist is way to expensive for the facilities given. No phone charging possible, dishwashing in toilets. One star extra because there was a picknicktable available.
Lovely little family run site. Very accommodating and helped with our touring caravan as it was our first time. Lovely clean toilet/shower block. Staff really friendly, little play park that my son loved and in a lovely area. Will be back :
Stayed overnight at the end of October 2022. This site takes campervans, motorhomes and tents. It is situated a 5 minute walk slow walk from the town of Newton Stewart. The owners are extremely helpful. You can get hard standings or grass, with or without electricity. There is a main toilet/shower block in the middle of the site. Definitely will be back. It's open 11 months of the year except February. Well worth a visit.
On arrival the warden was very friendly and the site is in a good location close to town and shops. The site itself is showing signs of refurbishment but overall is very dated with row after row of statics. Toilet facilities are basic but functional, the showers were hot but work with tokens purchased at the reception. The waste water point is very difficult to access if you have a large touring van and the water tap is located immediately above the chemical disposal point, not ideal. Considering the prices charged are more or less the same as the big club sites I don't think I'll be back
