A peaceful setting, and a lovely morning spent with the girls, a few things could do with some improvement mainly customer service and although my 2 girlfriends loved their massages, mine left a lot to be desired! We also didnt recieve our glasses of prosecco, Overall though a wonderful way to spend with the girls. The company won this day for me x
Yesterday was one of the most glorious relaxing 4 hours I have ever spent! A Mother's Day gift from my children, I took one of my best friends and we both had a fabulous time. The whole experience, from beginning to end, was lovely and relaxing. The lady on reception and the lady who carried out our treatments were both charming; so helpful & friendly. Everywhere was very clean, tidy, well thought out and perfectly conducive to a very chilled morning. We used the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. We drank herbal tea and plenty of water. The infrared sauna was really nice; this was followed by a yummy wrap and mini facial as we relaxed, wrapped up, cosy & warm. Neither my friend nor I particularly wanted to leave, but when we did, we honestly felt so chilled and happy. Totally recommended you give it a try
My friend received a thermal sauna, wrap and mini facial for 2,for her mothers day gift and kindly invited me to join her. We sat and read reviews on numerous sites and became very apprehensive and some what nervous, as there where many negative comments about all aspects of the spa. Despite this we still decided to go along. We had a 9am appointment with infa Red suna at 10.30 followed by treatments. We were greeted at the reception. By a very friendly chatty receptionist who was very keen to make a point of saying our experience should be relaxing and enjoyable. After showing us the facilities and ensuring we had refreshments of chilled water, and piping hot herbal tea, she left us to chill x The changing room was bright very clean and had a nice feel, with a hair dryer and straighteners available to use, even little touches such as cotton buds, small bags to put in wet clothes, hair brushes and lovely smelling shower gel and shampoo in showers. Lockers were spacious and inside was a lovely fluffy large white towel The pool and area was spotless, jacuzzi was warm with lovely powerful jets. Steam and normal sauna was lovely clean and relaxing I honestly can't fault anything. Lovely lady returned at 10.30 and put us in infa red sauna, encouraging us to drink lots of water and relax. After our half hour in sauna was greated with another lovely lady who wrapped us up into our robes and took us to the treatment room. Here we had our wrap and facial, which was a blissful experience, all I can say is I don't know when previous reviewers have been, but I and my friend had a truly wonderful experience only down side was we really didn't want to leave. I can't recommend highly enough xx
My friend and I had a wonderful day when we visited last Friday for an Infrared sauna session, tummy wrap and mini facial. Firstly, the friendly lady on reception welcomed us and took us down to the pool area where we were told to make ourselves at home and just relax while we make use of the facilities - a generous pool, sauna, steam room and special infrared sauna which we were told helps you burn up to 600 calories a session. The whole place reminded me of a Grecian spa, with marble decor lovely little extra touches, such as the herbal tea and mint water on offer, which is dotted around in various places. The tummy wrap and facial were so relaxing and I only wished it had been longer! I was so relaxed afterwards that I left my swimming costume in the changing room and the staff kindly posted it back to me the next day. How's that for customer service! Very impressed. Thank you.
Very unorganised. Arrived at Spa, had to wait ages for receptionist, to be redirected to hotel up the road for lunch. Chicken on rocket is not on a salad. Back to Spa, swim, jacuzzi, then supposed to be collected at 2.55 for treatments. Girl came at 3.15. Had facial and neck and shoulder massage which was OK. Back to sauna then swim. Tea on side was cold presumably as it had been there all day. Nice afternoon but not very restful and not enough loungers for the number of people there.
Quite expensive for a few hours but was almost exclusive, and the staff were lovely. Very good massage and facial...don't think the "prosecco" was prosecco, think it was sparkling wine. But would Definitely go again. Hadn't been warned the steam room was out of order though, which was irritating, but didn't ruin a very relaxing three hours
A beautiful and relaxing spa. The infra-red sauna is a must. The benefits are many. For me, stress and chronic back pain. I have one or two a week and not reliant on medication any more. Feel so much better. Highly recommend.
Myself and my husband have had the remedial massage and at last our issues have been solved. We followed the exercise program given and are now free from shoulder pain. The beauty therapy I’ve received has been excellent. The follow up advice and products I’ve purchased are superb and good value.
My bf invited me here for a spa day. The jacuzzi had so much chemicals in it that my eyes started stinging fom just sitting there on the edge, eventually i could not see at all. They were pretty much red and irritated for the rest of the day. This can't be any good for you surely, very strange. Other than that, the place seemed clean and nice.
Absolutely horrendous customer service. I wasted two days trying to get hold of the spa to confirm a booking, and received nothing but rudeness and stress. I booked the spa through Wahanda but never actually got to there after because of four days attempting to get hold of them. After two days, I finally got through the receptionist, Kim, was exceptionally rude, giving me no time, and giving no help towards my booking. She said she would call me back, which never happened, and when I returned the call, I was told she had gone home. The next day, I had to call again, Kim refused to acknowledge that she didn't call me back, which never happened. After contacting Wahanda, I was finally contacted by Kim who told me "I have left you messages today. And I'm not being rude, but you haven't been calling us". Both statements were untrue and she continued to be rude and accusatory throughout. My booking had to be cancelled, as spa treatments were fully booked by the time I got to the bottom on this. The time I wasted over a week trying to get hold of Royale Retreat and the stress it caused leads me to recommend people go anywhere else. And if Kim continues to answer the phones, I recommend she calls customers back when she says she will and doesn't accuse them of lying.
