I love Indian food and I anticipated coming here. The staff were incredibly friendly which was great, but the visit itself was very unpleasant. The food (possibly the tandoori chicken) gave me food poisoning...I was sick one or two days afterwards. Also, it was an early Monday evening and yet there was a large and rowdy drunken table of people, two of which ended up sprawled over my table, play fighting I assumed. The food itself tasted good at the time (but I'd be careful about what you eat to avoid chance of food poisoning). Would've preferred the sides served as sides rather than as starters and then waiting 40 minutes for the next dishes. Overall the experience wasn't pleasant and I got sick but it was the friendly staff that makes this rating 3 stars.

Amazing biryani's I have tasted around in Reading. Would love to try other dishes soon. The place seems crowded and if you are late you miss a good table. Good job Royal Tandoori...!!!

My favourite restaurant in Reading. Really delicious food , especially the grilled paneer with lemon! The combination of vanilla ice cream and gulab jamun far is the best dessert! The restaurant atmosphere very lovely. This is the kind of Indian food I like most.
