Had my 1st meal here and it was amazing. The steak was delicious... and so much of everything. I had the wings for starters, steak and then creme brule for dessert. Could not fault anything on the meal or the lovely staff. I'll be back again at the weekend with my husband.

We came to Malmaison as part of a group for a Christmas dinner. Pros: The service was good and staff were very responsive. Prices were pretty reasonable. The wine was rather nice. Cons: We were in a very cramped space for a group of our size, to the point where it was difficult to eat. Quite a few of the group were given chairs that felt on the verge of collapse. The food was fine, if a little lacking in sauces/gravy but portions weren’t massive and varied widely among the group.

I travel to Reading at least once a month and always stay here. Lovely rooms that are well catered for; in an excellent location in Reading. The bar area is usually quite busy on an evening and has a fantastic atmosphere. The food in my experience has been excellent each time I've eaten there. There is a restaurant in the hotel whilst I haven't eaten in there, I have ordered food on room service and again has always been lovely if a little pricey. The only downside is not all the reception staff can be as welcoming, on balance the majority are.

Very impressed by this cosy hotel. Checking in and out was swift. Service is the bar and restaurant was brilliant. Highly recommended.
