By chance found this on Google when search for a pub on the way home from a National Trust. We would not have found it without the aid of maps. Nice welcome seated inside which had character. Menu Fairly extensive, I had the pie of the day, beef and ale, my partner had the ploughman’s it was a large plate of cheese, pickles and apples - delicious. My daughter had two starters, pate and mushrooms on sourdough toast p, causing food envy on my part, Food very good reasonable prices and great service Search it out it will be worth it
A delightful thatched pub in a quiet location in the village of Aston Clinton near Aylesbury. Cozy small restaurant with an excellent menu. Snacks start at £8.00 and the average price of a meal is £15.00. I had an excellent pulled pork baguette in a Brioche roll with coleslaw and chips with a small salad so thoroughly recommended. There is a interesting outdoor seating area with couches under a large tented awning which looked interesting. There is an unpretentious bar for locals so it caters for everybody well worth a visit
Wonderful food, the hanging kebabs met every expectation. Friendly service made us feel welcome, certainly going back again.
We went to the Oak for lunch today and I can’t rate the service and staff enough. There was limited staff due to illness and we were told there may be a bit of a wait but the food was exceptional, hot and very good portions. The kebabs were amazing! A big shout out to Cat who was exemplary and efficient, nothing too much trouble and she smiled all the way through, a true professional. Great service Cat!
Had a really great night out last night, 15-12-22. The oldey worldey ambiance was great,The staff were great, very obliging, the ham ,egg and chips were not on the menu but the staff managed to get it for me. The food was second to none. I can,t describe how good it was so you,ll just have to make a booking and sample it yourself.
Had a lovely lunch. Food is very good. Nice and busy but not crowded. Would highly recommend.
Best hummus I've ever had! We went for lunch so no hanging kebabs but the mini kebab was delicious and the whole meal was amazing value. We will return
This pub had been recommended so booked a table of four. A lovely traditional pub with great beer, good service and superb food. Three of us ordered the famous hanging kebabs, we were not disappointed, so tasty and filling, struggled to manage a dessert but needs must. We’ll definitely be going back and thanks to all the hard working staff
First visit for food and I'll definitely be going back! Had one of their trademark hanging kebabs mixed curried, chicken, lamb and halloumi and it was very tasty indeed. The burgers coming out looked equally good so I'll probably try one of those next time.
Great pub for a drink, unfortunately no food being served.
