Absolutely magical and stunning street. The buildings really make you go back in time and all the different pubs and shops give a very nice atmosphere to the area. It's also a splendid walk to get to the castle. One of the top things to do in EdinburghVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Incredible part of the old city. Edinburgh castle itself would take almost the whole day to visit. The Scottish whiskey experience is not to be missed. The tartan weaving mill is excellent and loved the bagpipes being played on the road. I would love to visit again.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Fascinating artitecht and quite amazing old city vibe. This is must visit place if you are on tour to Edinburgh, generally very crowded but really good place to have a real feel of the city. Quite a few great picture spots here and good street side food on offering. Can easily spent few hours here roaming around.
Being Scottish I suppose we don’t appreciate how lucky we are that we can visit one of the worlds best streets within an hour or two of leaving our homes, from the gates of the Castle the thoroughfare stretches for 1 old Scottish mile to the palace of Holyrood which is the Queens official residence when in Edinburgh passing wonderful old buildings and closes full of history , bars , cafes and restaurants of all types crowd the street as well as lots of small unique shops that sell all types of stuff a visitor might want. A very enjoyable couple of hours can be had wandering down the Royal Mile.
Great place to visit. Loads of shops bars and restaurants. The fringe festival is held here every August. That's great to see. You can get a hop on hop off bus for £10 and do a tour of the city. It takes you right up to the castle. Great place to visit. Wavely Station is where you get of on the train right in centre of Princess street.
So much to see and do from buying luxury clothing and top quality whisky I was shocked to see so many brands of malt whisky.. we made our adventure to Edinburgh castle took a ghost walk tour later that afternoon. The buskers were so funny and a joy to watch.. The Scottish people we came across on our 4 day visit here were the best people we have had the pleasure to meet... Thank you Scotland for the very warm welcome.. food, location, people, transport, historical buildings were just fantastic .. see you again Very soon
Always been very lucky to visit here and have good weather. Such beautiful architecture all around. We spent a few hours along the mile found many places to explore, easy and drink.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
Stunning architecture lines the streets to Edinburgh Castle. The streets are buzzing with many people and tourists and plenty of souvenir shops, pubs and street performers can be found here. It is a spectacular area to walk through and explore. I would recommend having an umbrella nearby if you plan on exploring the area as there aren’t many roofs covering the streets or walkways.
Interesting historical street. Loads of character. With interesting stories. It is a tourist trap, but who cares. If you want anything resembling traditional Scottish clothing, food and drink. This is where to be.
This is a nice area to explore in Edinburgh! The architecture is beautiful here and the overall vibes are really fun. There are great places to eat, it’s super nice for walking, and there are lots of fun things to do. It’s kind of hard to miss this area in Edinburgh!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
