Alot of the nurses and care staff on Chadwick ward are rude and ignorant, you say hello as you pass them and you dont get even get a smile, they dont promote independence, thye are too quick feed patients that take a little while to feed themselves, My family member was previously on Alsopp and we couldn't fault them but upstairs in chadwick it seems if you haven't got a certain level of attitude your not allowed to work up here. My family members paperwork is never filled in so it looks like he hasnt eaten or drank for a few days in a row, their table is mostly out of reach so he cant have a drink until someone comes to give him one. Ill be glad when I dont have to visit this place again. The drs and the physio amd ot teams are amazing its the ward staff that let this team down. Ive observed some care staff sitting scrolking through youtube or tiktok while your family member is waiting to get up out from bed after waiting for an hour and half or waiting to get back to bed due to fatigue and back pain....for a rehab I'm shocked at how little rehabilation there actually is, there website is all singing and all dancing and what the patients get is entirely a different story which saddens me, these people are left sat in a chair or bed watching TV, there is no mental stimulation given
Came to see my nan on different days at different times the staff don’t care they have no interaction with the patients there stuck in bed or a chair all day they have a room with a tv and different activities but no one is ever in there …but meant to be a rehab my nan needed the toilet so badly she was sick of waiting for the nurses so got up on her own and had a fall bearing in mind she’s 96….and there point of view was well she’s ok she didn’t hurt her self badly well not the point do ur job properly and she wouldn’t fall wouldn’t recommend poor care worse place I’ve seen!!
Visiting a elderly neighbour on ward early evening Very good carenThe problem was at the car park paying machine was frozen tried to pay but nothing was happening as it was evening there were no staff to ask we searched around for another machine but couldn’t find any. We took a video clip showing us trying to make it work. Had no choice but to leave. I now received a fine for £80 I have gone onto the appeal site explaining what happened and giving them a copy of the picture as it would not accept the video clip. I have been turned down saying machine was working if I wanted to appeal with a further group but I would not able t pay at a reduced rate of £50. This was so unfair but I’ve had to pay as I cannot afford £80. Disgraceful! Shame on the hospital for employing such a money making company especially when worrying about someone on the ward. I’m
The district nurses, palliative and urgent response teams based here at the Rehab centre are all amazing individuals. They have so much empathy and provide the highest level of care. Truly outstanding teams.
Went in with two functioning limbs. Came out with three and three quarters. Simple as that. Great staff right across the board. A permanent but manageable limp is quite an upgrade on being bed-bound or wheelchair-bound for the rest of my life.
