Not even worth the 1 star.. daughter has been under these for over a year and they are awful. Left her with no medication, discharged her due to not attending and appointment we haven't even been made aware of.
Had a phone call out of the blue from these people from a man pretending to be a female voice; said that they want to check my mental health for no reason; kept asking me to reiterate my sentences to them as if they wanted to wind me up. I will stay in contact with my mental health team who clearly are not anything to do with these jokers.
I feel very let down by South Warks MH services over the years & I really recommend not going here alone. Having been referred by an understanding clinical psychologist who wanted me to get an 'official' diagnosis before I could continue under their care or anyone elses I am very disappointed this still hasn't happened. A half hour chat of leading questions is not what I'd called a diagnostic assessment. I wasn't at my worst when I attended so I was obviously judged on appearance. I've spoken to three different psychiatrists in less than a year at St Mary's. The first seemed to understand me far better & suggested far more appropriate treatment. Unfortunately, they appear to have been replaced by someone who said the exact opposite. I sought a second opinion, only to get the same response. It seems therapy on the NHS is a thing of the past and you now get referred to a zoom course on wellbeing with MIND. Completely hopeless in my situation as I've tried to explain. I doubt I'll ever approach NHS MH services again after 20+ years of feeling let down. This seems to be local to South Warks as friends living across the country have had much better care. I am not writing this review for me, I just hope something changes to give people who have no one else the support they desperately need.
Waited over 7 months for an appointment with a psychiatrist just to be seen by a supposedly specialised GP, who had little empathy, professionalism, understanding or preparation for treating complex issues. She gave me a prescription which was not valid with the pharmacy and had to go back for her to fix it. Then she forgot to notify my GP surgery so I could not even get a repeat prescription. She told me I need to see her again in 2 months but the next appointment is three months later. Some of the staff are quite rude over the phone too. A total joke and shame.
Currently referred to this site for therapy. I have a lot of strong feelings about this place. But I will keep this factual for people considering using them, asking to use them, or trying to get help for a loved one. At Mary’s lodge they either lack the facilities, or the willingness, possibly both, to help people with serious mental health issues. Make sure you get a mental health advocate before using them, you can apply yourself or ask your go surgery if they have a social prescriber who can refer you to a charity with an advocate. Keep all letter correspondence and give copies to your advocate and a family member or friend. Request an advocate is present in correspondence with st Mary’s from start to finish to make sure you are treated fairly. When promises are made and not kept ask your relative/ friend and or advocate to chase things up as the stress of doing it alone is likely to be detrimental to your health.
Doesn’t deserve one star. Absolutely appalling mental health service. No empathy or understanding from staff. Waited over 2 years for promised therapy and never received any therapy or support then suddenly discharged when my mental health was at its worse. Very bad
I would give them 0 stars if I could. I have waited since September 2018 for an appointment that I had today 13/03/19 and I lasted 15/20 minutes before I walked out. I have had many sessions over the years with different people and have never felt the need to walk out. I was with a man called Paul, he was just terrible in everyway! He smirked at me, made me feel like I was stupid. He was reading my notes from IAPS and laughed saying 'well you're not like this now are you?' well no smart a** I have good days and bad days. I told him how I sometimes am and he laughed AGAIN saying 'you're an adult now AND a mother, can't you grow up?!!'That was it then, I burst into tears and he said 'oh, hope I haven't upset you, you are sensitive aren't you!' I was done, I walked out and left, THANK GOD my husband was waiting for me because if I had been alone I can promise I wouldn't be here writing this review now! My husband was furious and then Paul came to the car with a smug grin on his face! My husband did tell him to.. 'leave' in a not so nice way then drove off. We rang the reception to complain and she made me feel like a child 'awww jade, Paul is such a nice guy, he's lovely, it's clearly just you and how you've perceived him' I have never been so appalled with how I was treated before in my life! I can not thank my husband enough for being there to help me pull through. I know I would have done something stupid if he hadn't. That's how horrible Paul made me feel!! I am begging anyone reading this!! DO NOT GO THERE!! For your own mental health please stay away! If you are not as strong or if you don't have someone with you like I thankfully did today you will leave wanting to end it all! I pray that no one is ever made to feel that way! I will be complaining to as many people and in as many ways possible to get this place sorted! THEY DO NOT HELP! THEY ARE NOT VERY NICE! KEEP AWAY!!!
absolutely useless. cant wait to discharge you and wont let you know about it either, bunch of lying backstabbers who cant be bothered, putting people on prescription drugs to come off addiction and making empty promises of different treatments knowing far too well the prescription drugs they put you on are just as addictive if not worse! and they call themselves PROFESSIONALS!?
Staff were understanding during my assessments but are unable to help me due to cuts and have told me to see a charity. I know they are doing their best but I need help.
Very helpful lady behind reception staff are very nice and friendly
