Everyone in the gynaecology depart are angels. All staff members I came in contact with were very informative and extremely considerate. The student nurse looking after me was fantastic, i wish they were paid for what they do, it would make me, as a patient, feel more comfortable knowing that as well as gaining experience they also received a fair wage. But again, thank you all so much, I’ve never felt more comfortable and I really appreciate it.
I have never written a 1 star review in my whole life but the Royal Lancaster Infirmary deserves one! Literally the worst hospital I have ever been to! The A&E waiting room is like a prison! 14-hour wait, some of the nurses have treated me disgracefully. I'm autistic and I have communication needs and adjustments. One of the nurses got so passive aggressive and refused when I asked for numbing cream/spray before my cannula got put in. As well as this, they were initially going to admit me into hospital suffering from severe complications from my awful illness last week. However, then out of the blue, several hours later, one of the nurses forcefully tapped me whilst I was asleep and said that I had to immediately go home; I live at uni independently and my family are over 260 miles away and zero consideration of that. Me struggling with balance, exhaustion and still very unwell, I needed some time to get out of the bed but no, the nurses were trying to push me to hurry up and trying to quickly pull me away whilst I was lightheaded and dizzy. Because of how quickly things happened, I had an autistic meltdown and was crying but an extremely rude nurse came over to me and forcefully asked me to stop it and she provided no comfort or support. They didn't even explain clearly why they suddenly changed my care plan; I'm autistic and need things explaining. The most traumatic hospital experience ever. Left in tears. Never want to come back here again. Shame on Royal Lancaster Infirmary, treated me like dirt.
I was admitted on the 3 July had a bad fall. I broke 10 ribs was put on ICU spent 10 days had no scans only a chest. And leg tray I couldn't put my foot on the floor. I had a few days physio. I got transferred to ward 6 thr physio came twice I had a leg infection 2 days on antibiotics the physio discharged me even though couldn't put my leg down with pain. I asked again a junior doctor about my leg said it's fine came home after2 weeks still.not had a scan on my knee I was home 2 days had to call doctor out my leg was so swollen and inflamed admitted to Fairfield in Bury who then had me on inter venous drip for 4bhad a CT scan got a broken knee. Sorry Lancaster need to change your physio manager and some staff
Hi guys, please read this review if you’re a female. Not too long ago I had a lump in my breast and was admitted to this hospital to have it diagnosed. I was a 19 year old female at this point and was already nervous given the situation. I went for my appointment and was assigned a male doctor. I told this male doctor that I was uncomfortable with him touching my breasts and requested to have a female doctor instead. He laughed at me and abruptly turned angry - he then told me to “get on the bed”. There was a female nurse in the room witnessing this at the time. At this point, I had asked him multiple times whether he could check if a female doctor was available. After he told me I had no choice but to get on the bed, the nurse stepped in and said she would get me a female doctor. Whilst she left, he shouted at me and made me feel even more nervous than I already was. The nurse then escorted me to a waiting room and apologised for his weird behaviour.nnThis experience was horrible. The only reason i decided to post this was to help other females who may be awaiting a breast examination. Please ask for a chaperone nurse to be a witness in the room, bring a friend, and request a female doctor when you’re booking your appointment to avoid what happened to me. I can’t remember the name of this male doctor but he was undeniably disgusting.
I would like to thank the staff at the A&E department for the excellent treatment of my wife on Sunday the 19th of may after her fall. and the blond haired male F2 who stitched her cuts and was very patient and kind 1st class service by every single person we met. thank you
