On 1st February 2023, I had a total right knee replacement. The surgery was led by Professor Patel and I stayed two nights in hospital. The care I received from staff before and after my operation was excellent with everything about the procedure clearly explained to me and I was made to feel very much at ease. I would like to thank Professor Patel who I think is an absolutely wonderful surgeon who showed a great deal of empathy and care during my stay at the hospital. I would also like to thank the nursing staff I'm sorry I can't remember all their names and Heidi who provided physiotherapy treatment again with care and consideration. A special thank you to Samantha Pickup, Patient Liaison Officer, who visited me every day during my stay to ensure I was happy with the quality of care I was receiving. A truly excellent experience and I would recommend the hospital to anybody.
Very pleasant hospital to have to go to. Nice surroundings and all the staff that I have met have all been very pleasant and helpful. Always had great help with any difficulties I've had with appointments when I have needed to change the date/time. Julie in particular has been a great help always getting back to me when I have had to leave a message.
I recently had bi-lateral half knee replacements carried out at the Lancaster BMI hospital Every one within the building, starting from the reception staff as I walked in the door, was lovely helpful and did there best for me. Especial thanks to Consultant Mr. Matt Dawson and his team for their care.
My husband ,Simon Thorne, had a Tibial osteotomy on the 13th October 2022, under the excellent care of Mr Matthew Dawson. The hospital and staff are exceptionally clean and very kind and attentive, especially Nurse Joanna. Food delicious. The only thing that would have been better is to stay another night. Overall Excellent.
I have recently visited the Lancaster Hospital for a consultation and then surgery with Mr Stewart McKirdy. I have to say how at ease he made me feel and reassured me that he would be able to help me and was very professional. What he has done for me has gone beyond my wildest expectations and I can’t thank him enough, he has changed my life. I would also like to thank all the theatre staff, anaesthetist, porters and nurses. Also a special thankyou to Samantha for your kind and caring approach and helping me when I was feeling extremely nervous. Last but not least thanks to the CircleHealth Group for my beautiful flowers.
Cannot fault the very friendly doctors, surgical team , nursing and auxiliary staff. Nothing was too much trouble. I felt informed and supported at every stage. However the Receptionist could be more welcoming occasional smile? and warm. Felt they were just doing a job. Phone system pre admission was poor ie took ages to get to through.
A warm and friendly welcome from Brenda on reception followed by helpful members of staff, Dr Kumar has been wonderful and can’t do enough to ensure i get the right treatment for me as an individual and is so thorough with his explanations and honest options and recommendations and very patient with all of my questions. Thank you
I spent two days at BMI Lancaster for a hip replacement operation under the care of Professor Patel, who is an absolutely brilliant surgeon. Right from my first appointment he showed great knowledge, empathy and care. I was a nervous patient, but the theatre staff put me at my ease and helped me to relax. Unfortunately I can’t remember any of their names now as I was very preoccupied going down to theatre, but they were wonderful. My first night was difficult, as I was quite sickly and my blood pressure was low, but Gail looked after me so well just after the operation and then Tina and Gloria came on shift and helped me through the night. Tina was mainly responsible for me, although Gloria was always there to step in and help. I was so impressed with Tina’s thoughtfulness and professionalism. She carefully considered all the options to make me feel more comfortable and discussed them with me and she also reassured me that all was well, despite the fact that I was feeling very poorly. Dr Sophia was also really kind and gentle and kept me informed about the procedures that they had to go through and why, such as taking blood etc. Simone, Mandy, Emma, Samantha and Michaela were all brilliant and couldn’t do enough for me. Andrew and Sarah who brought me my meals and drinks were also very considerate and friendly. I hope I haven’t left anyone out, but suffice to say that every single member of staff went above and beyond. Nathan the physio was extremely helpful in giving me guidance on how to improve my mobility and remain safe while recovering and was very patient with me. All of the staff at the BMI, Professor Patel, theatre staff, nurses and the support staff were absolutely brilliant. What an amazing team, I can’t thank them enough.
All of the staff at Lancaster BMI hospital were friendly and caring, they made me feel very welcome and relaxed. The food by Andrew was exceptionally good and he was also very attentive. My nurses Nick & Mandy were brilliant. My physiotherapist explained how to perform all the exercises I need to do in order to recover following the operation on my knee yesterday. My anaesthetist was excellent and finally I would like to thank Professor Patel and his team for all their excellent care whilst performing the operation. I would not hesitate to recommend this hospital to all. I cannot thank you all enough.
I recently visited the Lancaster hospital for surgery with Dr McKirdy and I am absolutely amazed with my results , the care and treatment . The care from every professional was outstanding, calming and reassuring and nothing was too much trouble . I was nervous and was slightly unwell after anaesthetic and just knew I was in every good hands and was so well looked after . Cannot thank you all enough , would highly recommend.
