Friendly helpful staff happy to talk about the menu and to recommend dishes. Pretty standard menu. Definitely aimed at the English rather than Indian or Bangladeshi customer, but that is true of everywhere in Chelmsford. Nice cold beer on draft.

A bit out of the way and hidden, and the hygiene rating of 3 is generally enough for me to say no, but have to say that I've always had a good ruby here and the service is good. The food isn't too oily or bland and the staff aren't miserable or distant like some other Indians. If you can't get to this one - go for Indian Nights near Hylands, Yasmin in Gt. Baddow or TM2 in town. Need to improve hygiene rating to get more than 3/5 though I'm afraid.
