Roots Coffee House and Community Space offers a warm welcome to all. Roots is the place to be for great food, great coffee & great friendships.

Story

Situated in the heart of Kingsholm, Gloucester, the old co-op building has been renovated by an enthusiastic team of local people and opened in November 2014 as a 2 storey, family friendly coffee house, serving fresh, home-made food and awesome coffee, and a community space providing a venue for a multitude of community led and inspired events & services.

A member organisation with no shareholders - all profits go back into community activities.

A lovely coffee spot with amazing staff and a little area for kids to play plus a comfy sofa. The food and drink are also very nice with drinks often coming with a seasonal twist like summer smoothies and different hot chocolates in the winter. They also have tons of events going on constantly so be sure to check the board they have up!

Cheerful friendly community cafe with lovely atmosphere. Lots of menu choices and vegetarian options and delicious home cooking. Great space upstairs to relax and room available to book for community activities. Yoga classes, sound healing and drumming circle to name but a few. Street parking only is the only downfall but most customers are local.

A perfect example of what community effort can achieve. Despite the utilitarian design of the basic building, Roots feels cosy and intimate thanks to the decor and thoughtful layout Split on two levels, the seating offers several quiet corners with shelves of books and gsmes. There's a good selection of drinks and cakes / biscuits at very reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Favourite place in Gloucester. Established for the right reasons, and. Evoking more diverse and inclusive as time pubes on. Good coffee and tasty food
