We booked a long weekend at Alvaston Hall. The staff were fantastic from the entertainment team, table and kitchen service to accommodation and housekeeping. The rooms were clean and well stocked with tea and coffee making facilities. The entertainment team were always on hand to lift your spirits with an activity or quiz during the day and alway provided high quality entertainment in the evenings. The breakfast had a huge range of choice from cereals, fruit and pastries to a full English. The evening meals had a good choice if you booked your table earlier rather than later but you were always served by courteous, friendly staff. I took full advantage of the swimming pool and saunas on site which were well kept and clean.
Amazing place. Fabulous food, beautiful room, marvellous entertainment and lovely attentive friendly staff. Was that good we have already booked for Christmas next year. Cannot rate the place high enough. Would recommend without any hesitation. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Well worth paying a little bit extra for a brilliant experience. True Five Star rating.
Lovely friendly staff. Lots of activities to take part in if you wish to. Great choice of entertainment on each evening in all bars. Good variety of drinks, food and snacks. We booked a double room and were pleasantly surprised to get a settee and very large bed and 2 TVs. Also had a small fridge and tea coffee facilities. Room 418, Fairways. The carpets could have done with a steam clean, but didn't put us off.
Lovely break. Great entertainments team and lots of free activities to join in with if felt like. Plenty of different lounges to quiet or lively times. Good range of food choice. Staff so helpful and friendly. Good value for moneyRooms: 4/5
Just returned from a four day break at Alvaston Hall with Family members ad we all had a very enjoyable time. It was all up to the usual Warners standard with good food, good entertainment, friendly staff and comfortable accommodation. Last visited Alvaston Hall in 2007 and it was good to see that great changes and improvements have been made. The whole complex is now very nice indeed. Will I visit again? Yes I will!!
What a lovely place! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everyone was so welcoming and polite. Particular thanks to Ed, our waiter, who was very efficient and friendly. Thank you for the chocolates for Valentine's Day which were left in our rooms and also for the glasses of fizz as we entered the dining room on Valentine's evening. What a lovely thought. We will definitely be coming to your lovely hotel again. Thank you everyone.
The food and the entertainment is excellent. Good day time activities and leisure centre. Staff are helpful and friendly. Adequate free parking adjacent to the hotel. We have been coming to Warner's for many years, and it's our cruise on land. My only gripe is, that like most hotels nowadays, drinks prices are ridiculous.
We have just returned from a 4 day break at Alvaston Hall, this was our first stay with Warners and we have thoroughly enjoyed it. You are greeted on the way at the end of the drive at the little wooden hut, the ladies explained your room, where it is, where to park etc etc, all very well explained and easy to understand. Parked and off to the hotel, yes it is a bit of a walk but you can drop you luggage and missus off at the pick up / drop off point and meet her there and anyway one thing I have always said you should not take that much stuff you can't carry it yourself, there is a porter who did help a couple up the stairs to room 29, most of the rooms that are not in the main house are accessible by level walkways and lifts and if you brought "not too much" then its fairly easy. The room - we had a standard room in the main house and it was more than adequate, clean and well presented with hair dryer, iron, ironing board, fridge to chill any drinks you may have tea tray, towels, TV, there is also free and fairly fast wifi available in the hotel. I see personally see little point paying for anything better as you sleep at night and are out during the day, but that's a personal choice. The restaurant - we ate in the main dining area The Market Kitchen throughout, we could not complain about the service our young lady said she worked a split shift about 4 hours in the morning and 5 or 6 hours in the evening, attentive to all her tables which was around 18 to 20 tables which amounts to up to 40 diners, they are only young but offer customer service to a good standard, it was evident that they take turns in going round the tables to see if there are any drinks orders during the music after dinner. If you complain about them making a mistake and for example taking drink to the wrong table consider they - work split shifts to make money would you work those hours?, there are plenty of tables, ~I saw table 166 so that is 332 diners at least. The spa / pool / gym - an excellent facility with a 20m pool open from 0730 to 1730, we only found the opening times at the welcome chat. I used it daily for exercise to burn off those calories so I could have an extra sausage for breakfast. The welcome chat - Lindsay the daytime entertainer works hard to make your stay the best possible experience, quizzes and loads of other things, unfortunately we never made one as we were busy visiting Cheshire and swimming when we got back, but one day we will. The music and shows - I love 60's and 70's music which there was plenty, some of the singing was excellent Lindsay and Laura were lovely and the sound excellent, with some of the others there seems to be a need to be loud, and for someone who is getting a bit deafer more difficult to understand, perhaps turn the sound down overall is not a bad idea, but generally everyone seemed to be enjoying it as there was plenty of people singing along and clapping. Housekeeping - there is a large team going round on every departure day servicing the rooms, full marks to them for their work, our room was to an excellent on our arrival, thank you. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our break and will be back sometime at a Warner's somewhere.
Lovely location especially rooms overlooking the duck pond. The atmosphere, staff & food were excellent. A special shout out for the entertainment team, they really worked hard, had excellent voices & their Queen tribute was 'awsome' Well done all the staff after such difficult times. Looking forward to our next stay..Rooms: 5/5
What a truly enjoyable place this is. The staff and entertainment crew are excellent and will do their very very best to make your stay extra special. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights as part of our 38th Wedding anniversary celebrations and enjoyed every second. At no point did we feel bored or at a loss to do something. Activities for everyone running all day then topped off with lovely food and great entertainment in the evening. Can't wait to go again and we won't be waiting until our 39th Wedding anniversary either. Rooms: Lovely rooms cleaned each day to a high standard by very friendly staff. Safety: Absolutely felt totally at ease and at no point was I worried for my safety. Food & drinks: Food and drink was spot on, plenty of choice and variety. If you go hungry here it is your own fault. Noteworthy details: Have to mention the entertainment staff who are that I.E. very entertaining talented young people who deliver their best during activities aswell as when performing on stage at night. Thank you.
