Honest, Inexpensive, and Very Nice! Spent a week touring around the Colchester area and used this company almost everyday. They were always on-time if I booked ahead and I never had to wait long for an ASAP request. The drivers went out of their way to be helpful, offering restaurant recommendations, suggestions of places to visit, and even provided a commentary about the scenery and places we were passing in the car. It was like a private tour each time I went someplace. Really the nicest group of taxi drivers I've ever met. One rainy afternoon I ended up in the middle of nowhere and the taxi driver had to stop and ask people where I might be. I was never so happy to see a taxi in my life. The driver actually said he never would have left me out there. Wow. Thank you, Roman Cars for employing the nicest people!

Stood outside in the rain for 40 minutes after a family wedding waiting to get home to my baby daughter, and fed lie after lie by the call handler fielding my enquiries about the whereabouts of the driver I booked 10 days previously. Then when he eventually did show up having to be friendly when he had no idea how to get home as held to ransom in the middle of nowhere with failing satnav. Then he sped all the way home on the rumble strips, either out of spite or incompetence - none of which was more comforting than the other. Just wanted to see my daughter and genuinely wondered if I would get home in one piece with this cab firm. Unreliable. Terrifying. Enough to make me want to start my own cab firm.

Horrible customer service by the driver. Had a pick up after work which I booked for 5. I left my desk at 5 (on top floor) so by the time I was out the building it was a few minutes past. First thing that was said to me was a comment about being late, which I wasn't. He was upset as everyone else also left work at 5, and traffic had gotten busy in the few minutes he was there (which he felt necessary to point out, stating there wasn't any traffic 5 minutes earlier, had I been 'on time'!). The car smelt awful, it was like I had stepped into a curry house, mixed with the very erratic driving and sharp braking meant I felt very nauseous by the time I was home. Then he had the cheek to round up the price to the next pound for being 'late'! (I had originally checked the price on the phone when booking). Wish I could give less than 1 star, even that isn't deserved. Shan't be booking again.

Horrible horrible. Told four black females to either pay before we got to the destination or get out. Absolutely disgusting. Don’t book. Avoid.

Would NOT recommend them to anyone! Booked taxi for 8.20 the day before,as was our first day at school and wanted to avoid all the stress.At 8.25 was told driver was stuck in nasty traffic and will be with us soon.At 8.30 when asked them how soon, said they don't know and they can't track him! I find it very very hard to believe they can't track their drivers. When pressed on them said will send another driver and will be with me in 3 minutes.Needless to say he wasn't there in nowhere near 3 minutes (obviously not drivers fault as they seem to be making these numbers up as they go along) while we were waiting in the rain. So eventually got taxi just after 8.40.The driver himself was really sympathetic and somehow managed to get us there on time but the company have proven to be utterly unreliable and for that stress I'd rather walk for miles than use them again!
