Absolutely shocking, I booked a taxi at 7pm to come to mine at 10:30pm so I booked it in plenty of time. Got to about 10:45 still no sign, I called them up they told me it would be a half hour wait. Half an hour past I called up again “sorry it will be another half an hour”. So we didn’t actually get to the place we was going until 12:30am!!! We ended up using another taxi service. Would never use this service again.
I've never written a review before but the service was abysmal. I ordered 3 taxi's in the space of 10 days with the company. 2 taxi's were late by 10 minutes each time. When I checked the progress of the 3rd one when it was running late, it said I hadn't placed the order even though a had done so 30 minutes before I needed the taxi. They offered no form of compensation when their incompetence caused me to miss my train. Don't use them, there service is utter garbage.
The firm has a helpful system that registers your booking and taxi arrival. However, they are jerks when it comes to you being a bit late. Most firms would just charge you for waiting. Today I ordered a cab for pick up at a train station a place that they might realise some flexibility is necessary, with a 5 min buffer for my arrival time. The train had a three min delay, which would have been fine, until about 2 stops away when the delay suddenly increased. At that point, the taxi driver called to say he'd arrived. I told him I was still on the train but would be there in less than 10 min. As he said nothing, I assumed he would just wait. When I arrived at the station about 7 mins past my booked time, the driver was nowhere to be found. When I called the dispatcher, he scolded me ! like a child for not calling to let them know--as if it was possible for me to psychically know before their driver called me. V disappointed. I take cabs regularly, so they've now lost between 6 and 8 fares from me each week. There are, after all, other firms in Colchester. Up your game, mates. Your customer service is poor.
Just had a nice 1Hour and 25 minute walk home after my taxi didn't arrive. I left my father's and waited outside, my phone died so I waited for the taxi for 45 minutes just for it to never show.. After then walking home, I called to company to express my complaints to only be told that the driver tried to call me and I didn't answer, and because of this they wouldn't turn up to the booked destination.. Surely it's not just me, but is this not ridiculous? The office couldn't give less of a ****, Shame however, always used this company
My client booked taxi - at the time it was due, she received a phone call asking for directions. She gave inch by inch directions yet the driver still took another ten minutes to arrive! It seems, according to a delivery driver, he’d been seen sitting outside a completely different business! When he eventually arrived, I explained I had a train to catch - he then turned the wrong way and drove carelessly and too quickly, making various U-turns and revving at lights! It was more by luck than judgement we arrived at the station with a minute to spare! Why don’t drivers know their area?
Hawaii five ZERO. Unfortunately you can't rate zero on here. Booked an hour early, got a confirmation text stating the time and address - great I thought. However, twenty minutes after the booked collection time I called and was fobbed off with an excuse about bad traffic. It was obvious the booking has been forgotten. Half an hour after the booking time I called again, to be told they are still 10 minutes away. Taxi finally arrived 40 minutes late, we had been waiting in the rain for this time. The taxi pulled up 20 yards up the road on the wrong side and made no attempt to come the the actual booking address. The driver appeared unsure of the route to a town centre bar, we had to direct him, the driving was irratic, he used his phone while driving and he appeared to be unaware that the booking was now 40+ minutes late, he claimed he had just been called. To make matters worse he said that at our actual booking time he was in our area dropping off and hadn't been informed of our collection. Poor service. We will not use this company again.... I doubt they will care though.
I was really impressed with the service I received late on Friday night. I knew I had missed my connecting train from Liverpool Street Station so when the train pulled out of London I called Hawaii Five O and arranged for them to meet me at Colchester main station at 12:30am. Half an hour later I received a text message telling me the make, colour and number plate of the car that would be collecting me, then another text message at 12:28am saying my taxi was 2 minutes away. As a woman travelling on my own at night I really appreciated the security provided by knowing exactly who was picking me up and when.
disgusting service. taxi was 15 minutes late so we called and politely asked where it was, saying that we would miss our booking if it was much later. the man merely replied that he didn't like our attitude which made no sense as we were completely reasonable and hung up. i then got a text through a minute later saying that my booking was successfully cancelled. following this we did miss our cinema booking thanks to Hawaii although Odeon were thankfully very understanding and agreed to change our booking so they will be getting a 5/5 review. Never using Hawaii again for their disgusting customer service on top of already being late.
Have used them many times. I always book via the app and the drivers are all generally friendly and good. Sometimes the app can't be used and has problems but nothing dramatic. Recently have been way overcharged due to the driver having the wrong destination card payment through the app and have been ignored repeatedly on FB and by email. Funny how I got speedy replies whenever I messaged them to book a taxi but they don't reply at all when you have an issue. As a result I won't be using them again and I think I'll try and do a chargeback if it's possible. Poor customer service. I'm a good customer and they will lose me now thanks to their attitude.
Called a cab an hour in advance, and shows up 20 minutes late which made me miss my train which I then had to buy a new one. They offered no compensation whatsoever. I rang up the company and the driver and the lady on the phone were arguing through me, absolutely abysmal service and do not recommend this company at all, not even if you're desperate, genuinely buses are more reliable than this atrocious company.
