Been coming here for a few years, for the lovely cream teas, fantastic selection of scones and sandwiches etc ,full English breakfast. Turned up this morning to find it has totally changed. Tiny menu selection no cream teas, no breakfasts and even the name has changed to Tea at the quay. The staff are still lovely but its such a shame ,a little gem lost .
Lovely situation on The Quay at Exeter. A small and delightful tea room with seating inside and out. There is a large selection of snacks, meals, cakes and other goodies plus,of course teas and coffees. The staff were charming. Highly recommended.
Very dog friendly. Lovely range of teas. I recommend the Jasmine. Lovely cakes and quite happy to accommodate customer requests to deviate from the menu. Thanks for a lovely tea.
I've come here with my wife and some freinds twice now and have enjoyed both visits. It has to be said that the food & drink is quite heavily overpriced I'll take a picture of the menu next time I'm there. The food is actually pretty standard, to be honest, and nothing special and I DO NOT mean that in a negative way, but the comparison has to made by standard VS price. The staff are freindly and helpful and the cafe offers an excellent range of tea, which you can mix and match to make your perfect brew. I had a mix of flowers which made an exceptionally floral tea - yum! Would come back again and I recommend you visit the little ice cream shop same ownership I think next door for some very nice ice cream. Ideal for families or couples who like to sit outside in the sun, while there are number of tables inside for the not so nice days.
I had a very good prawn sandwich on granary bread with plenty of little pieces of fruit and salad and some crisps... and of course you sit opposite the inner dock on Exeter Quay so the Outlook is lovely
The best tea cakes in Exeter's Now under new hands and on my first return visit I was sad to have lost a friendly, quirky, homely venue. I will return in a few months to hope for it just being preasure and teething problems. Though i fear the decor change has left it without the character it had. If it ain't broke, dont fix it people!
Dog friendly and awesome staff. Great for a bit of cake a sandwich and a good cuppa loose tea. Don't forget to use the strainer... Highly recommended.
Poor service, waited at least 15 minutes to get served then had to get staffs attention. Expensive too, high mark up on food ...cheese scone with butter £4!! .......very disappointing.
Such an amazing place for breakfast and sweet stuff. Friendly and helpful staff with a quick service. Nice view and beautiful site.
Traditional tearoom, cosy and friendly. I was very happy to find vegan butter, so i could even enjoy a toasted teacake. Will return.
