Just browsing last Saturday 30th September. Staff were polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the products. They didn’t mind me trying all the samples on display. I chose one of the hot chocolates which has been a real hit when friends come round.
I’ve worked in retail myself so like to leave reviews when I can. I came in a week or two ago and the man who helped me I think his name was Rick? was super helpful and attentive. He listened when I rambled on about my brother who I was buying a gift for and provided excellent advice on the hot chocolates and which ones he recommended. I was then assisted by Quincy at the till who was just lovely. Very smiley and chatty and even offered me some samples for the other products available once I said I would be looking for a Mother’s Day gift in store in the future. All round a very enjoyable experience and I will definitely be coming back.
It's a great little place. Discovered Whittard teas online but never knew they had a shop in Exeter until we stumbled on it last year. They always have a few samples on the go to try what's being marketed. And they always have their core products stocked if we ever need to get some while we're visiting. The only qualm is that, like many tea/coffee outlets, a lot of the really good stuff is either promotional or limited edition; you try something which you really fall for, and then find it's no longer stocked a few months down the line...
Good selection of decent tea reasonably priced. Lots of samples in store and really friendly person behind the till. A surprisingly positive shopping experience from someone who doesn't like shopping
I had a lovely experience in your Exeter shop. The handsome gentleman that served me was extremely helpful and polite. I bought some lovely salted caramel hot chocolate and strawberries and cream biscuits which I had no intention of buying but once I tried the samples on offer I could not resist. Also purchased a lovely glass mug. I had 3 free samples of tea, one of which is blend 1886 and enjoying now. As stated the services was unparalleled by the lovely handsome man in store today. Can't recommend highly enough.
We had a very poor experience of this store whereby a member of staff chose to chastise my child for collecting a sample cup, followed by chastising children who enter the store at all! He further suggested very loudly that children have been burned by the hot chocolate that can be poured into taster samples - despite this the sample dispensers remain at children's height. I hasten to add my child had not attempted to pour a sample - simply collected a cup and was left feeling very upset and very unfairly so! Following this interaction we chose to purchase our Christmas shopping elsewhere.
We came in yesterday to buy some bits and pieces for Christmas. The man who served us was very helpful and polite and was able to recommend a tea close to the Christmas tea that I love so much that I can purchase when the Christmas seasonal tea has been finished. We were also able to taste test some chocolate covered coffee beans, which were lovely. Thank you all!
Some gorgeous gift ideas in here for tea drinkers .. and hot chocolate drinkers. They have lovely packaging and an adorable range of Alice in Wonderland tins, cups, tea pots etc. We were told there is a bigger range online. Helpful and friendly staff and we were offered a tea sample to try unfortunately we aren't tea drinkers, but it's great that they make this available.
Just been into your shop and the manager was incredibly rude to my 13 year old son. My son was pouring a sample of the hot chocolate which the lady politely told him wasn’t ready. He apologised and that should have been the end of it. We aren’t saying it wasn’t his fault he didn’t see the sign, my complaint is the manager came storming out of the back snatched the cup away and snapped at him to learn to read. I approached your manager and said there wasn’t any need for the rudeness he snapped again at me. Went back in to get details to complain …without my son. He was still very rude. I can see form other reviews it was the man with the dark beard again!!
First time going to this store.. at first I thought it was only a tea/herb shop. Turns out they got fresh roasted coffee beans too Dark/ Medium/ Light - the first time I see a shop having all three and I drink a lot of coffee. I tried two 125 gr bags one dark and and the other light roast and I have to say one of the best places until now. I made an espresso with the dark roasted one and I got so much crema I took a photo. On a last note the girl working there was very helpful and polite :
