Courteous, professional staff who helped locate a part I required swiftly. Everything to be expected from a centrally located hardware store for technical professions and trades working within central Oxford.
For Christmas I was given a hand held blender, bought from Robert Dyas in Oxford, by my daughter who lives in Portugal. She gave me a Gift Receipt from Robert Dyas in case it was not what I wanted. I already have a similar blender so attempted to take it back, only to be told that I could not be reimbursed without the card used to buy it. My daughter has already left so that's not possible. I asked for a credit note, which is standard practice in this situation, but this was also refused. Instead I was offered to exchange the product for something else - which is not helpful as I don't have any idea of what I would like to exchange it for. This is very upsetting and unhelpful. What is the point of issuing Gift Receipts if you cannot use them to return unwanted gifts?
I visited the shop this afternoon. I only needed one small nut. The staff at the counter was so helpful, friendly, and patient even though I was only making a small purchase. I forgot to ask her name but she's really wonderful. She also asked if I'm a student and gave me student discount even though it was just one nut. It was such lovely experience when the staff is this great.
Delivery is late, didn’t arrive in the 2-4 working days as promised
This is a very useful shop. Despite being a good deal smaller than the out of town hardware emporiums, it stocks a very wide range of household necessities, tools, light fittings and so on. Moreover, the staff have worked there for a good while, are knowledgeable and willing and able to find that one is looking for and to help with enquiries. To make the most of the limited space available, the aisles are quite narrow and it's best to avoid peak times if one can. Parking in central Oxford is expensive and at times in short supply, but the shop is close to bus stops and within easy reach of the coach and train stations.
The staff is what makes this shop a five star experience. Every time I go in they are friendly and helpful. Even if I can't find what I want which is rarely the case I leave with a smile on my face.
Absolutely lovely staff,i had placed an order and asked for the return which they completed really professionally and courteously,top class customer service,thanks to everyone at the store especially Dave and Craig,they also house the highest quality equipment,a must visit....
Went there looking for a pair of headphones. Very good Quality/price. The staff was very helpful and extremely friendly. Highly recommended store for a lot of items.
Me and my partner love this store, it has literally everything and we only came in for an air cooler and came out with so much more, definitely coming here when it comes to moving home, staff are absolutely lovely too
The staff were unstintingly helpful and patient in arranging free delivery of my item, it's subsequent return which then resulted in a very satisfactory exchange! I am now very pleased with my purchase.
