Nice little restaurant. As soon as we entered we was shown our table. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Made us feel welcomed and comfortable. The menu is limited and only 2 Vegetarian options available. I had the vegetable curry and my mother had the chicken curry. Was nice with a little kick of spice. Then my mum had triffle and I had chocolate fudge cake with ice cream. That was also nice but have tasted better else where but all together a nice little place to get together with family for a meal.
Sausages and Mash in Onion Gravy was superb , home cooking par excellence. Bread and Butter Pudding with Custard rounded off a superb meal and very reasonable prices. Recommended.
It was our first time eating at the restaurant and what an absolute pleasure it was, the staff were so welcoming and the food was absolutely stunning ,had the steak pie and to be honest it's the best iv ever had will definitely be returning
Very old fashioned pub. Food ok but not brilliant and limited choice, eg don't do salads. Attached picture is meant to be a side salad, it's more of a small garnish.
Lovely food Tempura chicken to star Lasagne for main with garlic bread Dec 28th today I had prawn cocktail and steak and mushroom pie. Really nice good portion of meat in the pie and very tasty
Wow!! havent been here for a few yrs. We called in today for a Sunday Dinner and found it as good as ever. You just cant fault the service here.
My wife & I enjoyed a beautiful Sunday lunch @ the Rising Sun, but although the 'carvery' is no longer the way they distribute the food, the high standard's remain the same. Thank you

Visited this great old fashioned pub today , very friendly staff , nice decor , excellent food , just what was needed after our walk up the fifteen locks ,will definitely be returning
Second visit here this month , this time brought the walk group , very friendly and helpful staff and landlord and landlady ,enjoyed our meals
