We had high hopes for the food due to the excellent reviews but were all very disappointed with our meals. We are wondering if there was a different chef on the night we ate here as our experience was so different to the other reviews. The lasagne had barely any meat in it and was very burnt around the edges. The chicken pie was very dry & the carrots were rock hard with soggy broccoli. Unseasoned, dry mash with no butter or cream in it. Undercooked pastry. Hard to find any positives with any of our 4 meals.
Amazing little pub we stayed down the road in the Shepard's haven and fou d this pub. The staff were brilliant and really welcoming. The guy working behind the bar was great and knew the history of the building which my partner was really interested in. Food was amazing and really well presented great value for money will definitely visit again.
Stopped for an evening meal. Lovely little country pub. Friendly staff, efficient service and good home made food! Food & drinks: Really good home made food and served hot which was excellent.
Lovely meal at a good price and plenty of it! Staff very efficient and courteous. Definitely call again when in area. Food & drinks: Good choice of food and drinks. My wife had the best Hunters chicken she has ever had and I have never had a chicken and bacon pie with so much filling, normally you're searching for the filling.
We were staying in a cottage opposite the pub and went in twice for tea. Food was amazing all home cooked and freshly prepared. Staff were great and really helpful made us feel welcome would definitely recommend a visitService: 5/5
