We had a lovely time at these gardens. Staff were unfailingly polite and we were given a warm welcome on arrival, along with a well designed map and recommended suggestions, which included a temporary Japanese shop.  The standard of gardening as you'd expect was tremendous as the photographs show. We enjoyed a pleasant picnic in the grounds and spent a good 4 hours navigating the grounds of which there are approximately 56 acres.  Another pleasant surprise was how tame the birds are here. A robin came right up to me on 2 occasions!  Playground: Excellent playground areas for children including treehouses and slides to explore.  Restrooms: Clean and convenient.  Picnic area: Lots of well situated benches and even some indoor areas in which you can take a break and eat.

Beautiful gardens. The tulips are spectacular at the moment as well as some lovely rhododendron. We got a reasonably sunny day which was nice & the gardens were very peaceful. It's a wonderful place to visit

A beautiful pleasure garden within easy reach of Harrogate. Take public transport to get a significant discount on your ticket. I went in early spring and maybe didn’t see it at its best, but still enjoyed the heather display and the early bulbs. The library is also worth a visit! Avoid the main Betty’s tea room; too crowded and overpriced. I had a lovely tea plus scone at the stand in the gardens.

Beautiful surroundings and gardens, lots of great play areas for children. The grounds are immaculately kept and lots of greens and seating areas for picnics. Overall a great day out

A Journey Through the Seasons  Harlow Carr is a really magical place, I've been coming here for years with my family. I'd highly recommend joining and seeing it evolve through the seasons. Lots for kids to do and learn, Betty's is nice for a special occasion, but a bit overpriced for the food and service.  Bringing a picnic and having a day absorbing nature is one of the best things you can do around Leeds.

Visited for the glow event and it was a fun festive evening for the whole family. The gardens looked amazing, the light trail is really well done and the spiced rum hot chocolate towards the end was spot on. From four year old to grandparents everyone had a lovely time. The bubble man was particularly enjoyed and great that the shop was kept open late for the event.

Wonderful place to wander round. Kids areas were busy but not too bad. Free parking appreciated. Nice to see they had taxi drop off spots too. Betty's only to eat at on site at the moment, both with a queue but good service - suggest the one inside the grounds as there are many benches to eat alfresco. Arboretum was glorious and quiet. Enjoyed the succulent and cacti show.

Perfect gardens and excellent garden centre with a wide range of plants for sale and gift shop.  We went in April 2024 midweek and long queues for inside restaurant and outdoor cafe had short supplies, so maybe bring picnic. Plans though for another cafe on site to open soon?

Great day out with beautiful flowers and surroundings. Walked the whole park. Great vibe. Well set out. Great for young and old. Will be back in the summer!

We live near Wisley and HC is certainly superb. Great spring colours and lovely tea in the garden. They have worked so hard despite the rain. We'll done.  Restrooms: Very clean and fine.
