Sadly I can't agree with the 5 star reviews! We found the pub, river walks and river views all amazing but sadly the campsite is let down by its dirty facilities. The showers and toilets were dirty and were some of the worst facilities that we have ever used! If you like clean showers and toilets then don't go here.
Great campsite facilities basic but functional, dog friendly but,the grass was a bit long and needed a cut. The prices for staying are very reasonable and a good weekend getaway. The camp site is next door to the Red lion pub which has an excellent range of local beers and good food from local suppliers. The pub has plenty of seating outside overlooking the river nothing better on a sunny day .
Lovely site, right at the side of the river severn. Lovely pub on the site, kids play area, and lots of walks to choose from. Very remote, but very relaxing.
The campsite was fine, the facilities were OK and the price was good. However, there's no free WiFi, in-fact, the staff in the pub refused to give us the code... I know their WiFi system and adding a proper guest network takes 5 minutes. Daft.
Had a great 4 days at the campsite, booked again to visit in 4 weeks for another 4 days. Shane and Linda were very helpful and the site although a little tired was well kept and clean... showers hot and toilets clean... cheers well recommended
What a great site - friendly reception lovely flat field - electric hook up all round the edge and free for all in the centre. Toilets & showers and a pub right at the entrance and the River Severn what more could you ask for
Really enjoyed a long weekend here, owners were very friendly and helpful, it isn't expensive to stipe here and there is everything you could need, electric hook up, showers and pot washing facilities. Nice and clean field with the pitches on the outside so children can play in the middle. We will be going back
Hi we are known as Julie & Alan we have been coming to the Red Lion campsite for years now and we love it ..Lynn & Shane are two lovely people like all the previous managers; the facilites are good including the toilet and shower block which on our very recent visit was very clean and tidy with a fresh coat of paint ...we recomend this campsite to anyone .
It's a real shame, pitches we're fine and we'll maintained. The toilets we're awful, dirty and well in need of updating broken taps and a constant leak on the floor. Their was no hot water for showers or washing. When you arrive through the gate your met with bins overflowing, derelict outbuildings and flowerbeds overrun with weeds. It really is a shame as it had the potential to be so much better. At the least it could of been clean and tidy. Discarded gas bottles chucked behind the toilets and various items disregarded around the entrance. Saying that the on site wardens were very friendly.
I really enjoyed my stay here. It was spacious and tidy. The shower need a good refurbishment as it's very old and warn down. It's still OK if on a budget and good for families. There's a small playground with a few play swings and slides
