Large restaurant within a hotel. Plenty of seating inside and out, though it can still get very busy, if not full. Reservations may be a good idea on weekends. Service is good and friendly. Meals are of a good standard. Views from here are beautiful, and the area is a great spot for walking.
Nice pub to stop at after walking around nearby Winchcombe and Cleeve Hill. We sat with our Dog in the garden and enjoyed the views with a nice cold beer...once I'd managed to get out the door which was a bit hard to do with my hands full. All good though. 3rd time we've visited and look forward to returning soon after our Autumn walks. Staff are lovely and food has always been decent.
Had a lovely evening tonight with my better half, great views from the window looking down on the countryside. Great view of the hills in the distance while enjoying a refreshing drink and lovely meal. The Sirloin steak with pepper corn sauce was lovely. Great friendly staff and very reasonable prices. The Apple crumble tart for desert was 10/10 amazing. Lovely place to have a quiet family meal or grab a drink in the bear garden.
Just had a lovely family Christmas meal. The food was excellent and plenty of it. Our waitress was fantastic, very attentive and saw to all our needs. We had 11 booked, but only 8 were able to come. Thank you everybody for a lovely warm welcome. You never let us down. Looking forward to coming again soon.
Nice, clean hotel with beautiful views. Some improvements were being made at the time of my visit, so things should be better. There were several minor problems in the room. Breakfast was well worth the money and all the staff were helpful and pleasant. Would recommend.
Nice view. Basic rooms. It's a bit expensive for how spartan the rooms are. However, the staff is nice enough and seem anxious to make you comfortable. If you're looking for basic accommodation and very hot showers off a busy road, this is the place for you. Book your dinner table in advance just in case or sit outside if the weather's nice. The view is amazing. A short steep walk up Cleeve Hill will get you even better views!
Excellent stay! Well priced room that we booked last minute. Very welcoming staff and a beautiful view from our room. The hotel is only a 10 min drive from Cheltenham town centre so very convenient. Would definitely stay again
Place seemed very short staffed, with one waitress covering too many tables. Main course arrived cold and drinks ordered before main course did not arrived until main course was finished. A large party was used as the reason but if a large party was expected then they should have staffed accordingly. Waitress was excellent and very apologetic, which is why this is not a one star review. Will be back? Probably not for food but its a lovely place for a drink in the summer
Went there 9 days ago with my partner son and his partner, as a break in the journey from Wales, I had a lamb shank roast dinner which was delicious though the roast potatoes were a bit on the small side, and there was not enough gravy, my son had steak and ale pie which he said was good, my partner and sons partner both had the ribeye roast beef dinner which they said was good apart from the beef being a bit fatty and chewy. The service was good and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly.
Although we love this place as we always come back, we were quite disappointed this time due to our room being a "let down". We asked as usual for a room with view, which we got in No. 5. However, it had no drawers at all and only a small rail attached to the wall, to hang 2 people's clothes on, no hooks in the bathroom either, also the window was broken had to be held open with some cardboard! And although we had tremendous view, the window inner panel was constantly steamed up as the seal was broke. Come on Owners, these are basic things aren't they???
