A lovely stay at The Edwardian. The room was nice and clean, with all amenities needed for a weekend away. The general spaces were impressive, with great views across the city too. The pool facility was included in our booking, and this was a true delight. We went for an hour from 5-6pm and 9-10am and both slots were quite busy, but not unpleasantly so. Some guests didn't quite understand the vibe of the spa/pool/sauna space one did a bomb into the pool, but they didn't stay long! Again there facilities were spotlessly clean, and well supplied. They had an accessible changing room which was a positive thing. The staff were helpful, and check in was nice and simple. Having arrived too early we were able to leave our bags with the concierge, which was handy. It's in a great location for visiting Manchester city centre, although parking options nearby are rather costly/poor.
"Mixed Feelings - Didn't Live Up to Expectations" The location of this hotel was excellent, and the check-in process was smooth and easy. However, that's where the positives end for my recent stay. The room cleanliness was a major disappointment. We specifically requested the room be cleaned, but after waiting 4 hours, no one had come to service the room. When we brought this up to the staff, they seemed indifferent to the issue and did not offer to resolve it. Other problems we encountered included the unreliable lighting, which would sometimes fail to work, and the malfunctioning toilet flush. The in-room safe was also unusable due to a dead battery. Overall, this hotel did not live up to the quality and attentive service I would expect, especially given the room rate. The great location was the only factor that salvaged the stay to some degree. I would be hesitant to book here again unless significant improvements are made to the room maintenance and customer service.
Wow, so ok, this is what five-star hotels look like then. I've not been to many five-star hotels, so this is my first time, at least the first time in a long time. As you enter, the hotel lobby is vast with double vaulted ceilings. The receptionists are lovely and polite, very accommodating, and checking is very, very quick. They have a pool and a gym free of charge, but you must book, I guess, to ensure that there are not too many people in there. I can't deny it looks impressive. I couldn't go and attend and see it myself, but from the picture, it looks fantastic. Rooms: The rooms were very spacious. The one I was in was very high-tech. I love the electronic blind that would block out sunlight. The bed was extremely comfortable and the total room size was enormous. Just all those added extras you get with a 5-star hotel you can be guaranteed to get.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Edwardian hotel at the weekend. Every member of staff that we dealt with were so welcoming and polite. We tried to book swimming for the Sunday morning but was all booked up so they changed this to the next available time 11am and allowed us to check out later. This was really helpful as I only really booked the hotel for the spa/swimming facilities. We didn’t eat or drink in the hotel’s restaurants/bars but they looked so nice. The breakfast was great too! The location was perfect and in walking distance to everywhere we wanted to be! Will definitely stay again when visiting Manchester! Thank you :
Fantastic hotel!! Superb hospitality! My family & I stayed at the hotel last Thursday. We were celebrating my daughter’s wedding evening reception in the Library,Champagne Bar. A separate review has been left’ Special thanks to Jonny Wolstenholme & his amazing team for their warm, friendly welcoming & continued outstanding attentive service during our stay. All our rooms were beautiful, light, relaxing & spacious as requested. Ideal for hair, make up & getting ready! My new in laws were so impressed, with the venue, especially after the Concierge moved the large screen into the lounge area for them to watch the Euros, the night prior to the reception. Many of the guests joined them & of course celebrated in style. Also thank you for all the additional gifts & services for Tasha & Arron. They had the perfect stay. Looking forward to returning & enjoying the “best”,hotel breakfast in Manchester. Thank you once again.
Super cool hotel. Friendly staff. Room service fast and attentive all the time even late times. Very well Laundry. Organized rooms. All tea cups and spoons are sealed in a plastic bag or cover and clean. Rooms: 5/5
This was my first trip to the UK and the level of service at this hotel was fantastic! Rooms were gorgeous and very comfortable, and the conference spaces were lovely as well. Food was also top notch! Best was the concierge, Gary, I arrived quite early after a red eye flight from New York and he made me feel very welcome and comfortable while I waited for my room, which he also helped to expedite.
Situated in central Manchester - a great location with everything in walking distance. The reception area is off the main entrance, the concierge is at a side entrance where parking, on the street is available - on meter or if you have a blue disabled badge - it’s free. Staff are pleasant and helpful. In the main lobby area there is a giant cockerel that is beautiful but forgot the picture . There are 3 lifts. One of the lifts will take you to the spa and gym directly. The other lifts will only take you to the lobby area - then you can walk down to the spa. The spa area with swimming pool - you have to book and you get 1 hr slots. You can have 2hrs a day but not together. Our room 514 - had a view of high rise buildings that at night were beautiful with all the lights… the room was ok apart from the pillows. There was a bath and shower area like a wet room and toilet and an area with storage and basin. There are mirrors in the basin area and you can slide one back to show you the hairdryer and tissues - you can also store your items on a shelf here. They supply shower, shampoo and conditioner in bottles that get refilled great idea and they smell good. There was a fridge that had complimentary water - restocked everyday along with tea and coffee making facilities coffee machine with pods - refilled FOC everyday Rooms: The room we stayed in 514 I have reported on above Walkability: Central to lots of- trams, hop in hop off bus, conference centre, bars, restaurants, supermarkets…. We chose this hotel due to some mobility issues - it was perfect Noteworthy details: The parking at the back of the hotel - we stayed for 5 nights and parked here with a disabled badge. It was only by chance that we went out by the car on day 4 and it showed parking suspension from midnight… we wouldn’t have known if we hadn’t - by chance - walked out that way. There is a lot of disabled parking but with disabled badge you can park In Any parking bay - free.
I've stayed in Premium room City view in March 2024. The room was quite nice, the view was really the city view. The only issue with the room was related to the drawer with coffee capsules, it looked broken, but I didn't use it anyway. I didn't like that in 5 star hotel I can hear every little detail of what's going on in a hallway while lying on my bed inside my room. Other than that - everything was really great. The lower floor with spa/pool and gym = love, I really relaxed down there. One thing that you need to keep in mind is that time slots are 1 hour per room a day and you need to book them. The asian/mexican restaurant was great and really delicious. Rooms: The Premium room with City view is great. Walkability: Near the hotel there's a tram station St Peter's Square, that allowed me to get to everything I wanted to visit in Manchester. Food & drinks: The restaurant inside the hotel is great.
Amazing location in the center of Manchester the room was very spacious and modern beds super comfortable. We used the gym and pool everything was recently renovated with great gym equipment. Breakfast was fresh and delicious and the service was great.Rooms: 4/5
