Stopped in just for drinks. The pub looked clean and spacious, staff were lovely. Snapped a picture of the GF menu because I always do! Could do with more range for coeliacs but it's better than nothing. Gin and tonic was delicious!Service: 5/5
A warm welcome, excellent and friendly service. Extensive menu, I had a very good steak and ale pie. A choice of 6 draught beer, I tried 2 and both in good condition. This was my first visit in many years and will certainly return again soon.Food: 4/5
Had lunch here today. Staff are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The pub is very welcoming and the garden is great. The food and drinks were delicious and we didn’t have to wait long either. The lunchtime deals are great value and very tasty. We will definitely be back soon .
Food is average at best ..cauliflower cheese was vile bowl it came in was red hot .it was a bowl of water with cheese & soggy cauliflower..microwave frozen rubbish ..chips were a joke & all 3 fish were anemic batter not upto scratch..but the actual fish inside was fresh & tasty ..the food at this place has got worse & worse after every visit..was way better a couple of years ago. The band were excellent..food is poor
Lovely Sunday lunch. Food great, service excellent, fair prices. Extra Yorkshire puddings and gravy are a great idea! Parking: Easy to park.
Saturday afternoon and reassuringly busy. They were more than able to cope, though. We found a table, ordered food and drink and were seated and eating very quickly. You can apply the word "lovely" to the surroundings, meal, drink, staff and atmosphere in spades. You can add price to that list too. Now we can't wait to take the rest of the family for a treat we know they'll all enjoy. Well done to a well run pub.
Food is average, everyone including myself who ordered chicken dishes wasn't best pleased, once they did mine again it was much better but was still left hungry after the toddler portion I'm only 10 stone by the way. The atmosphere is nice except some of the lighting caused me discomfort headache and ringing ears due to some bulbs slightly buzzing, tested them with my phone which confirmed they were not error free, although they do have a lovely warm temperature.
A great pub! We had a lovely meal which was cooked perfectly and the steaks were a very generous size too for the price! Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were friendly and very attentive. The kids meal offer was a great price for the amount of food you got too. Thank you for a lovely meal and experience and we will be back again soon.
It's such a shame, we've been here lots of times and really enjoy the feel of the bar and the garden area. Most the time it is just for a drink and a while since we ate there, the most recent visit we had food, nothing special, sausage and mash and a lasagne. The Lasagne was cold in the middle and was sent back, they simply chopped it up and nuked it but by then the garlic bread was cold. The top of it very watery rather than that melted and slightly burnt top. The mash potato was quite dry, heavy going and flavourless. With both priced around the £12-13 mark each, we just expected better. No apologies from the staff about the cold meal, no check part way through or afterwards. Need to sort that out quickly and should be nailing the basics. Otherwise, the Bar staff always friendly and the place always appears clean and tidy. Big pothole in middle of car park hard to avoid, been there ages and needs filling.
These people don't know how to cook steak. Went a couple of months ago ordered a steak medium rare. When it came it was well done. I put it down to being very busy. Went last week, my partner ordered a steak well done and it was cremated. Completely inedible. The rest of the food is just pretty beige. My daughter had a chicken burger and that was literally all she got. No garnish or side salad or anything. It all just seems like things from farmfoods chucked in the oven. Won't eat here again.
